Take a look here, it says it directly, half-way down. The word ‘retroactively’ was used.
I did that for both Alliance and Horde.
Looking forward to the upcoming “Crushed Under a Pile of Furniture” achievement.
LOL is that a real Achievement …
I…I have a quibble.
Getting rewards from old quests is all fine and dandy, being as its a new system and all.
But I’m going to call timeout on adding new rewards to old quests in future expansions.
The simple reason being that in order to do the quests again, you have to, essentially, level a new character, because you’ve likely already done the quests in question, these are new rewards, not new quests.
And that’s all fine and dandy as well.
But I don’t think it’s good to “have” to level a character each expansion get the new to the expansion awards from old quests.
I also wouldn’t support just having the mailbox crushed on launch retroactively awarding everything to everyone who’s already done the quest. Driving folks to the Old World is not necessarily a bad thing.
But the idea of, say, in a future expansion, having to level some toon to, oh, L45, solely to finish some quest chain in, golly, Blades Edge (and who doesn’t love Blades Edge!), I mean, that just kind of stinks for a napkin holder or whatever.
You don’t have to level a new character, you can take a max level character for a quick detour.
And that’s assuming it won’t be retroactive, which to my knowledge it will be.
From the article:
“If you only play in one Neighborhood, but want the opposite faction’s decorations, each neighborhood has a small area with a band of smugglers happy to sell you decor from the other Neighborhood.”
That makes me very happy.
“With Midnight’s launch, any quest that grants decor will do so retroactively for anyone who has completed them.”
From their article I linked earlier.
I’d hate to think the mailbox will get bombed, though it is Blizzard. Bad choices is their MO.
If they go about it sanely, it will show up in whatever tab/mechanism they put housing items into, same way pets/mounts/appearances do.
Of course, if you’ve never done the quest, now you’ve another reason to do it.
LOL my Decor tab is going to be chocked full when Midnight goes live…will be for many many of us that been in game a long time and done quite a lot of Achievements now…will be spending all day long just looking though our Decor tab hahaha
The list was posted earlier today. You get 1 copy of a decoration from various achievements in remix (many rep-related) then can buy additional copies from the vendor for bronze.
Meh, that’s too bad. Like I said, shouldn’t just log in to having the mailbox gorged with housing quest rewards from quests we did 20 years ago. No problem redoing the quests for it, just don’t want to ahve to do it each expansion.
But, whatever. No dog in this hunt.
Same for me!
I don’t think they’ll mail anything, Decor has it’s own Collection tab thingy.
LMAO all us older players with tons of Achievements when Midnight goes Live we’ll spend the first day just going though and staring at our Decor tabs hahaha…knows I will be
Hopefully they are adding a Decor tab to the Collections UI and the items can be put there in an “unwrapped” state. Never understood the point of “wrapping” mounts and pets we get from the shop and twitch drops.
It’s simply there to call out that “See, you got the award, and here it is” rather than just burying it in your vast mount collection.
First “day”? ITYM week.
Except I often have to reset filters and dig through my collections anyway. Oh well. Just give me the item and put a line in chat.
I’m quite excited for housing. Midnight is shaping up to be a great expansion from what I’ve seen so far.
LMAO that it might be for real…needs days to sort though all the stuff …,knows I will hehe
May I try Midnight Alpha, Blizzard? It never hurts to ask.
