Yeah I agree completely, the reward structure is so bad you are just frontloaded with everything you need not even 3 weeks into the season so you have no incentive to do anything.
Week 2 of M+ saw a 30 percent drop off and that number will most likely drop to 50 percent from W1 once more and more people get KSL.
And this hilarious argument of “well it lets people level and gear alts easier” in what way, nobody invites you cause blizzard doesnt publish your warband score so you need raider io as nobody will invite you if you arent fully hero track geared even for 8s lmao.
Story is a whatever as always, raid is meh it has its ups and downs but the reward structure isnt there and the dreamrift dropping the OP trinket but only 1-2 a week feels super fun.
I saw this coming week 1 and everyone said I hate casuals and people that have jobs, not sure what that has anything to do with meaningful progression and rewards being WoW is basically just an ARPG at this point and it sucks at that now.

I disagree with OP on nearly all points, but I do agree strongly about the characterization of the Void. The Old Gods at their best were terrifying and alien. The Void, which supposedly created them, are Saturday morning cartoon villains all trying to eat each other to be the strongest.
It’s jarring. I don’t even mind Saturday morning cartoon villains (I loved Fyrakk because he loved being evil), but the Void feels less menacing and less dangerous than the Old Gods, and significantly more “human” and understandable.

I like getting rid of valorstones.
That’s been good.

Are you serious? There was a lot of hate over legendary drops, timegating (Surumar, the class hall campaigns, and the artifacts), demon hunters, class changes (particularly the class fantasies), the story like killing off Vol’jin and Varian or Sylvanas being put in charge of the Horde or Illidan’s redemption. I believe Legion also came with a squish that didn’t go over well. I also think this was the start of the borrowed power rants and the war against flying/pathfinder/the supposed compromise. Argus wasn’t received well either. I’m probably forgetting things. I find it hard to believe you don’t remember any hate. Took Blizz the whole expansion to iron things out.

People despised legion on this board. Complained everything was gree, every Hunter main wanted to burn the game down due to survival, people wanted DH removed from the game .
artifact weapons and power were absolutely detested.
The only thing people Universally Praised in the beginning was the class lore/halls

Disappointed in regards to the story, but that’s nothing new.
The gameplay has kept me around, as per usual.
It’s not perfect, but I’d argue it never was- it just transitions from near-perfect to outright gamer-repellent lol.
Midnight has a better story than Shadowlands or Warlords of Draenor, for example, but that’s an extremely low bar.
And this current story is still inferior to BfA’s, which is still regarded as a ‘bad’ expansion. (Moreso for gameplay reasons, however.)
It’s leaning more towards the bad side, than the good side.
Borrowed power rants, yes, because Legion was the first expansion to make dozens of legendaries that were mandatory for content progression but became worthless with the next expansion.
But the whole Pathfinder Flying thing started during Warlords of Draenor.
Story wise, I agree.
Gameplay wise, it’s just more of an improvement IMO.
Right, but then pathfinder was still a thing in Legion and BFA and folks weren’t happy.
Midnight - “It’s like TWW, but worse!”

Horrific visions, corrupted items, N’zoth content, and Ny’alotha in BFA were a much better representation of the themes of the void, and these void entities should be much more powerful, corrupting, and disorienting than even N’zoth, as she’s opening a direct conduit to the void (where the old gods come from). The whole expansion should have been like the nyalotha/visions patch of BFA but even more extreme and fleshed out ( when this saga was announced, I think most people were expecting that basically the whole Azeroth would be like a horrific vision in Midnight).
Instead its some lame elf fanfic with slapped together purple/blue recolor legion where everything is happening around one zone of the world and mostly resolved in 1 patch. lol
Where’s the cool bosses or entities like Il’gynoth? Where’s the tiebacks to his prophecies from Legion? That’s what people want from a void expansion, not this boring lazy slop, sylvanasv2.0 emo girlboss extreme, and troll zone # 48

Yep, Pathfinder was a thing throughout Legion, BFA and Shadowlands, and in all those expansions flying was locked until you completed Pathfinder Part 2, which always released later in the expansion’s lifetime.
- For Legion Pathfinder Part 2 didn’t become available until the Broken Shore patch.
- For BFA you couldn’t unlock Pathfinder Part 2 until the Nazjatar patch.
- For Shadowlands you couldn’t unlock Pathfinder Part 2 until the Korthia patch.

The main point is the other guy saying there wasn’t any hate for Legion during Legion is a wild claim that those of us that played that expansion knows to be false.

I didn’t feel any different since BFA/Shadowlands/Dragonflight/TWW/Midnight.
To me they all give the same energy/vibes.. I hope the last Titan is something close to Legion.
Are you comparing them at the same patch or are you comparing end of expansion to first season midnight?
Because even some of the good expansions were doozies early on, let alone the worse expansions
Oh I know, I’m not arguing against that.
There’s a lot of revisionist WoW history going on here with respect to how expansions were received.
BFA and Shadowlands were the worst-received expansions in WoW’s history. They almost killed WoW completely, and Shadowlands was so bad that not even Classic WoW could stop it from tanking as far as overall subscribers were concerned.
So if I see anyone claiming that Midnight is worse than either of those two, I know I can’t take them seriously at all.

Im harina fun, if u leave may i have your gold ? I need it for housing
didnt play wod til the end of it got pathfinder like 4 days before legion launch, played all of bfa and sl. Still think all 3 were better overall than midnight is because CLASSES WERE FUN TO PLAY.
I went in hyped but completing the campaign kind of drained me of any excitement.
SMC is pretty, but also very boring. And that’s how’s I feel about most of this expansion.
I like housing but have not really touched it, mostly just collecting and I took down the house decorations I had and never redid them.
I haven’t been logging in for much or for long, everything feels like a chore and a bore. It’s more of the same so when it does feel that way it’s time for a break. I played through the last two expansions, DF was good for me and TWW was only okay, three expansions of the same in a row is a pass for me.
My sub has a couple weeks left on it, I will probably play enough to fulfill the trading post objective and then wait and see if future patches get better.
it sucks because I was hyped for Haronir, trolls, housing, prey system, it’s like all things for me, I just don’t like it. I’m okay with that.
