Exactly. They have a plethora of neat abilities already made that would have fit it quite well. I’d have preferred that.
They could also start actually using the Glyph system again the way they should be by expanding it massively. But apparently that also falls under the same customization blanket they’re afraid to utilize.
This is whats so frustrating. So many people would love to play Ethereals and now that we’ve literally clipped their entire story down there is never going to be another time that adding them would make sense in the story.
Yet somehow its Haranir we’re going to get next. Nothing against them its just… we should have been getting the Ethereals now if we were ever to get them. We don’t even know the Haranir until Midnight yet they were clearly being worked on for TWW before they were delayed and its just… it sucks that they didn’t see their own story and realize that this is the time to have been doing Ethereals for those players.
It feels like Blizzard is hiding behind the words “we want it to make sense” when it really amounts to them just not taking a second to consider when and where to actually do what people are requesting. To actually think about what time would be good for adding new races, spells, changes to the look and feel of abilities and customizations.
It feels like a smoke screen because it never ends up making sense.
Even Forest Trolls here for the Darkspear? Thats kinda bad on its own. Forest Trolls are notably bigger and burlier but they think that just giving Darkspear the skins will work out?
Thats not what people are requesting and again if there were a time to add them NOW is the time with Midnight and Zul’aman probably becoming allied to us or the Blood Elves. Now is that time. Now is where it makes narrative sense.
The narrative time to add in druids for everyone was when Amirdrassil came into the real world with Azeroth’s power and could have easily made a connection to all races right there.
That also would have been the time to add in Druid of the Flame customizations but nothing there either despite the people having been asking. And when will that ever be narratively reasonable again?
Its feels like a lie over and over and over again and again.
Aye, this would be fantastic. There are so many abilities and spells that would function perfectly as stand ins or replacements to the spells we have now. Using the Glyph system they could even make it entirely a player choice option. They could give us these things. They should give us these things.
Its and RPG and I can’t fathom how they don’t think this is a good idea.
