I’m not instinctively opposed to simplification. It doesn’t automatically equate to boring. Pretty much every class currently has a huge pile of passive effects that go off in the background and you don’t really think or even know about them. Cutting a lot of that probably isn’t a bad place to start. I’m much more concerned about pressing a button and a cool thing happening. Abilities looking and sounding good, and thus feeling good are what make the game fun to me.
