Why are your guild name and cheevo points blue?

Can you give us an actual creditable source to that being the case that Blizzard was the first to do ingame voice chat back in 2006 - 2007?

Na he’s wrong and honestly has no clue what he’s talking about with wow’s bit rate in 2007…
But anywho one of the first games to implement it was actually a Sega Dreamcast with alien front online 1999 bah typo Dreamcast came out 1999 that game alien front online came out 2001

To expand on this then Seganet released 1st voice chat compatible webrowser in 2001 I believe

Then 2002 Xbox released there VOIP
And I believe it was 2005 for Nintendo DS with there VOIP

I cringe. I don’t want to talk to random people on the internet.

NO I won’t use WoW’s voice chat, its terrible and I can’t control it. I like having 100% control with discord.

Also Discord has more services:

Video chat
Calls
Complete admin control of your discord rooms
Bots with commands to make them update news of anything, play music, ect. My friend’s server has 2 bots, 1 for game updates(and maint alert), and a 2nd one for free game offers of various websites or steam, ect.
Easy and comfortable UI layout

Only reason people like using 3rd party communication like discord is so they can use offensive language and post offensive messages that would get them banned in WoW. In short they’re not mature enough to conduct themselves like adults.

Lmao so misguided and flat out wrong. Yes, ppl may use “offensive language and post offensive messages” (you forgot offensive meme’s, gifs, videos etc. but I digress) but that is NOT the soul reason…what an ignorant statement to make…

When every experience has been the same, yes. People screeching on voice, cursing, using obscenities towards certain people or groups of people, spamming nsfw images in chat, etc.

Then you need to associate with better people than

Not the biggest deal I guess since I have plenty of RAM, but it’d be nice if Discord’s were a little more lightweight. Between the main process and helper processes, it’s currently eating 350MB of memory with 3 servers added sitting in the background doing squat. It’s more lightweight than some similar chat apps (slack, MS teams, etc) but still has room for improvement.

I’ve been playing ESO on my X-Box. I have voice chat turned off because good god the cacophony in high population areas is terrible.

If every experience you have is the same, the common denominator is you.

HA

I’d love to listen in on that just once for funsies and then turn it off forever.

I was about to correct you by saying that goonswarm alliance chat exists… but no, your right, trade chat with voice may in fact be worse than that.

When I literally don’t say a thing and only join voice when I have to in order to join a group not really.

I would give you a like, but used all mine up for 21 hrs so pls, have these two, Meritha! :slightly_smiling_face:

News flash: Tencent has a share in ActiBlizzard’s business as well as discord. So what are you going to do now? Tencent has a share in almost everything in the world.

Also, I’ve never had issues with Discord like you describe. Honestly sounds like a “you” issue. I tried Blizzard’s voice and it was meh, it sounded worse then Discord. It’s been perfect for everything. Yeah Discord will have that 1% downtime, 99% uptime issue, but what service today doesn’t go down time to time? You should check your mic/computer/internet/ect to see whats up…its not discord thats bad, its something in your set up that had you having such problems.
