There’s no evidence that it was intended to have to kill the add.
The strategy went on for multiple days and was well documented in the stream, so if it was deemed an exploit by Blizzard they would have approached Method to communicate that, but that didn’t happen so it looks like it was indeed a valid strategy.
Even without the stream there are GMs often in the instance literally looking at the strategy being used by top guild pushing for world first.
If anything, the hotfix that made the fight harder in the last day before reset, then got reverted towards the end looked incredibly suspicious as it was a major blow against Method odds of beating the boss before reset, which would have ment a free win for Limit after the re-clear.

its different because method are their prized pay pigs and their tool to force the game into an “esport”. they would never ban them.

Their strategy was to ignore the add. That is not exploiting.

If anything this just makes me respect Method even more.
The issue is not that they ignored the add.
The issue is they ignored the add because they realized the add was bugged. The add is supposed to cast Frost Nova at 100 Energy. However, they realized that if you interrupted the volley spell, it gets locked out of Frost Nova as well. As such, instead of killing the add before it can cast Frost Nova, they kept it alive to take advantage of the bug.
Taking Advantage of a Bug = Exploiting. I couldn’t care less about World First, but if Blizzard wants to punish exploiters, they need to punish ALL exploiters. Period.
Method went out of their way to NOT report the bugged add, just so they can take advantage of it.
Look at other raid groups. They are not doing that strategy because it’s not the intended way of doing the fight. It’s a legit bug.
Hell, I’m hearing Blizzard even fixed the bug and then reverted it a few hours before Method downed it, with no explanation in the hotfix notes explaining what the “fix” was - which in essence means Blizzard “fixed” the World First race.

I think that Blizz May have but then reverted it back for Method. Tbh, I’m most likely wrong but I did hear that Blizz made a change to the fight and then Method asked to have it reverted and it was. Probably something innocuous.
Did you report the bug? Since 100% of their progress was on live stream.
To be fair, it would be completely stupid to do the sorta changes the hotfix implemented…in the middle of the race while multiple guilds are in the middle of dealing with Jaina.
That’s not true, they ignored the add because they realized it has too much health and then it spawned two extra adds, even when the hotfix made the elemental start casting frost nova again they stuck to their strategy and continued to ignore it.
They got her to 11% I think, or was it 9%?, can’t remember, even with the elemental casting frost nova.

Not even that but during World First races there is generally ALWAYS someone watching from blizzard over the raid. In order to find actual problems.

It’s Blizzard’s fault 100%. Why make the ability take over 30 seconds (longest talented time for an interrupt SPriest)…? I mean lol.

I mean, you wouldn’t be able to think of one since literally every CE you have, you’ve bought from other players. Therefore you spent most of your time past the second Mythic boss of the raid dead.
