We’re good at dying ?
Guess what… one spec / class will always be at the bottom of the list. Suck I know!
BUT
Guess whats even crazier ! They can all still do it ! WOOT
So ignore those online rankings, its bad for your health and just do em mythics with your friends and have fun.
Bruh…really?
This isn’t about what’s first or last. That’s a given. It’s about the discrepancy between first and last.
For instance, you expect sprinters in a 100m sprint to be within one or two seconds between first and last place when they cross the finish line…not five. That’s what we are dealing with here.
95% of us arent in the 100
We’re not even part of that race, so essentially it doesnt even matter !
You speak for yourself and yourself only. Those that want to do high end keys with this spec beg to differ. So yes, it does matter. Don’t pretend otherwise.
Doesn’t have to be a high key. You can do your standard +15 key and you’ll die instantly from most things as holy as soon as something dangerous looks in your general direction.
I feel the same. I started gearing my monk for 8.3, and even though it does loads better in M+ than my disc, I still enjoy playing disc more.
Its a MMO rpg, make friends and play and go for those high keys.
Pugs? the worst thing there is for M+.
Pugging M10+ will really put your sanity at risk. Agree here.
Unfortunately you do not have to play there for it to effect you. Ever heard of player perception?
Ive been there in Legion with Afflock. would just get priority invites purely because i was Warlock vs. my Shadow Priest getting declined left and right despite being able to do the content just fine.
Yes, which is exactly why I don’t perpetuate them further.
I mean you do not really have to. the people “perpetuating” them do not go to the forums. Really doesn’t change my point though that player perception is more effective than the actual strength of a class/spec.
People have not been wanting priest in M+ for the vast majority of the content’s existence.
It has been mentioned that priests can complete 15s in time, and this is true and I have said as much on multiple occasions. But to say these sorts of rankings should be ignored misses the point entirely. At the end of the day priests are bad at m+ in comparison to other classes, and this WILL result in you being declined to groups. Sure, you can run with your friends, and I can tell you the people in my guild will take me to keys that are very easy for our gear/skill happily, but once keys start to get “hard” we all wish, myself included, that my class wasn’t quite so bad in keys.
I did not, at any point, say these rankings should be ignored entirely. I said they shouldn’t be perpetuated to the entire population, which is what happens (and has been done multiple times in this thread). I only run up to about +12 keys (purely in PuGs) and I do not struggle more than my other healers or get declined regularly. When people come on to ask if priest can do keys, everyone says priests are terrible and they will get constantly declined for druid without asking what range of key they intend to run. If you run in the teens, absolutely you will find noticeable struggling points and difficulty getting invites because of player perception. But most people don’t run that high. Most casuals just want their weekly 10 and that’s it.
I’m not saying ignore the rankings or don’t talk about perception, simply be precise in where it applies.
I feel Disc should be given 1 or 2 of Holy’s healing spells to boost their direct healing throughput, maybe Prayer of Mending and Binding Heal or something. Definitely should get Renew back too.
I love the current play style of Disc dealing damage to heal, but blizz is having a hard time balancing it, we’re either too OP or struggling it seems.
I used to really enjoy the WoD play style of being the pre-emptive absorbs healer.
Play resto druid instead.
If you’re using representation as a means of ‘evidence’ to support this claim, RaiderIO shows us the following stats for overall Timed keys in Season 4 to date:
Holy Paladins - 20.3%
Resto Shaman - 11.5%
Mistweaver - 16.7%
Resto Druid - 33.8%
Priest - 17.7%
Priests are third most chosen Healer out of all Healer specs, ahead of both Mistweaver and Resto Shaman, and not far behind Holy Paladin.
If anything, these numbers suggest that Resto Druid requires a nerf to bring them more into line alongside the others, and the resto Shaman may need a wee buff.
Are you sure…? Priests have two healing specs. In that 17.7%, how much is that is Holy and how much of that is Disc? If it’s split evenly, then yea, they would be dead last in representation. Cute how you left that out, though.
I did all dungeons on +15 minimum last season no problem as disc. I didnt notice a lack on any week except grievous. I 2 chested 17s and it’s not as bad as everyone complains about. Yeah you cant do 24’s but you can still do higher keys. If you mean this season we’re 20 ilvl below what they should be at for the K values.
I left it out because t’s irrelevant to the discussion. You said “priests are bad” …thus specifying the class, not a spec.
Though in terms of percentages between them (the percentage of overall Priests has increased since last post):
Holy - 9.5%
Disc - 8.7%
Total: 18.2%
