Which is still more than “no Alliance race converts to Blood Elf”.
Incorrect. Three class/race combinations is far from a full race’s worth of characters.
That’s not what you said and not what I responded to. You explicitly said “There’s no Alliance race that converts to Blood Elf,” I gave 3 examples of Races/classes that convert.
I only needed 1 to disprove your statement.
And the thing that ultimately tipped the scales in the end was paid character services. It’s really time to revisit how racials impact competitive endgame.
Voodoo Shuffle was used for 1 part of 1 fight.
Right, exactly, a cash shop service was used to provide an in-game advantage.
It doesn’t matter how many phases it was important for, it got raid teams over the hump and allowed them to clear.
That’s textbook Pay 2 Win (even if they paid with gold, because somebody paid for those tokens with cash).
pinches ridge of nose
It got a high end raid team made of the top of top a slight edge for a part of a fight for 1 boss on top of every other edge they had accumulated in a race after the raid had been unlocked for less than a week.
This wouldn’t even be brought up if they had all entered in as Troll characters originally.
Anyone know the title you get for getting server first? Like i’m pretty sure for Uldir it was Famed Slayer of G’huun I think
Exactly. A paid character service gave a raid team an advantage in a competitive game mode. That’s pay 2 win.
And it was obviously a significant enough factor of the win that both Method and Limit ended up doing it.
They switched to a race that everyone has had access to since the very beginnings of the game.
Again, if they had started as Trolls originally this wouldn’t even be brought up.
Limit was 1 day later - that’s really close. This was not a wipe out.
I really love the Troll racial changes, especially since Alliance got up in arms, yet they also do this fight…as horde. Bliz simply could not make this fight more fair than it did. YET still Alliance tears! Because when it’s actually fair, IT’S NOT FAIR!
The races all have races that they convert to by default; that’s what’s meant by a “race” converting to another race. None of the Alliance races converts to blood elf.
A few race/class combinations convert to blood elves of those classes - not much choice for demon hunters - but those aren’t race conversions, those are race/class conversions.
“Everybody can do it” is a strawman argument. It doesn’t discount that a paid service was used for a competitive in-game advantage by the raid teams that got the first three kills.
This is another strawman argument.
I don’t even need to add anything.
No it’s not, you’re treating it like this insidious thing that not everyone has access to… except for absolutely everyone playing trolls.
If it was actually fair, Limit would have saved money by staying on Alliance after switching, and speed leveled/geared a character for the one guy who wanted to stay Horde.
No, again (and this is the last time), I’m saying that paid character services were used to provide an advantage that allowed at least the top two raid teams to clear a mythic raid before anyone else.
They paid to win.
And yes, not everyone has the gold or RL funds to use paid character services on a whim to beat a raid boss.
-
not required to beat her, they just wanted to be first in the world
-
you don’t need to pay to play a troll, you can make one just fine from the get go.
They were in a world first competition. To be first in the world. And they paid to do a part of it.
Clearly that wasn’t practical for the world first race, because Limit and Method didn’t do it.
You’re arguing hypotheticals and I don’t really know why. We both agree that the paid service they used provided an advantage.
So… yeah.
And for the record – I think Limit and Method have phenomenally talented raiders. I’m just sad that beating the final boss of this raid tier was affected by the cash shop. It shouldn’t be like this and combat racials in competitive game modes should really be revisited.
No they used a Change to go faster rather than just level up a Troll like is possible for absolutely everyone.
Because you keep throwing around this P2W whistle like this is the only way to beat Jaina, when it’s not, and that it’s the only way to have Troll characters, when it’s not.
