You lament others making posts about someone else posting a lot. Yet here you are. Complaining about others posting a lot.
But here. I will make it fair.
I am not saying the OP is a troll by asking hot topic questions in threads then generally disappearing. I am only asking if he is, in a very loaded question. We cool now?
You said OP didnt call others cheaters. Just asked if they were cheating. So that made it “different”. You implied I did not fully understand. I fully understood. But the thing is, OP was not just innocently asking a question. He asked a loaded question based on a faulty premise to get a specific hot response.
So I said…lets make it fair. I wont call OP a troll. I will just ask a loaded question, bring up his lack of discussion, spamming topics, and only ask if he is a troll. With a question designed to get you to answer the way I want. Much like the OP did.
This way, you shouldnt have a problem with me insulting or causing defamation for the OP. Because I didnt accuse him of anything. I merely was asking a question.
Understand. Now that you explained it fully. I would say that perhaps in my estimation the OP just makes the initial thread and does not want to actually interact much.
The OP has stated in several of the posts that they like posting topic threads in question
form because they enjoy just reading the replies. This is the case to all the OP’s thread, mostly. And perhaps the OP poses the question in a way to get attention.
That can’t be considered a problem. Since a lot of posters do this.
If you dont care to interact with the thread, it can be estimated that you dont care very much about it.
I am not saying its a problem. But when you constantly post questions, often based on misinformation…esp in a way to say something derogatory towards others (which is what the OP did in this case)…
Combined with how you regularly post the question then rarely every participate in the discussion…
It is quite logical to make certain estimations of the OP.
People can think what ever they want about any forum member. It’s subjective opinion.
If the forum moderators leave the thread up. It’s a legit thread. And indicates that the OP
is not a troll. So that should be the bottom line for most people.
Of course some people may not like or appreciate another persons posts. That is just human nature.
A strange world view I think. Should a soldier go to boot camp to train for war? Should football teams (or any sports team) have training camps and farm clubs to produce better players? Should chess masters spend the thousands of hours studying the games and doing chess problems in order to face equally dedicated players?
I like to go into a game cold and explore with a more mobile and survivable character to scout the situation. Should that be my only foray into the game? Once I know the lay of the land, is it cheating to send another character in to take advantage of what I learned?
I think OP should do his thing and let the rest of us do ours according to our wants and social mores.
I am just making up my own definition of trolling (much like the OP made up his own definition for cheating), and I will continue to ask if he is.
OP has already stated that Blizzard’s opinion on a person cheating (within the context of what he is asking) is irrelevant. So to stay consistent, I will also deem Blizzard’s opinion on if he does enough to qualify as breaking the rules on trolling for the forums also irrelevant.
There is a second step once that feeling comes around and you’re called out - you ignore it. Keep going on with your life.
Our job as role players in this space is to build our own immersion. Our own stories. We cannot control the actions of others, just as they can’t control ours. They can shout as much as they want to come across the fence - but we don’t have to, and neither should they.
There will always exist a bunch of streamliners- folks looking to improve and excel beyond the boundaries of established gameplay - and we’ve gotta respect it. Should we call’em out for being trashy when they’re crappin on our way of gaming? Yes! But we shouldn’t retaliate beyond that, y’know?
It ain’t cheating if you’re having fun. Only if you’re ruining the gameplay for other folks - and in this case meta-gaming’s only bad if they’re trying to force it on others.
Folks like that can screw off and don’t deserve to be listened to. :3
Gamers, like everybody else in the world will take advantage of anything that helps them
advance in the game. People will do just about anything they can in life that gives them an
advantage over everyone else. Its just the way people are. Some of there actions can be
called cheating and will be. That’s also just the way people are. It is cheating? Well, most
of it falls in a grey area.
