I want to know what was posted.
Nothing good. Well I mean I liked it but the vast majority here would hate it completely.
Drakonid would have been a much better playable race than Dracthyr. Hopefully they show up as an allied race before the expansion is over.
Ooh, I do remember running into that one and it had the question about his wings.
Itās the buff version of the dragonspawn model.
Guess I can see why thereās not winged versions, it was rarely used before, so why bother making a new oneā¦but they could have increased itās usage if they had
I wonder if the animations for Maut from Nyalotha were decent. Itās been a while.
Could have used that animation base and made the new model for it.
Honestly, I just think they didnāt want to show them flying, since that would be incredibly ponderous. Their origins have always been murky and heavily implied rather than overtly discussed, but I suspect that weāre in the midst of a retcon to those murky origins.
I want the 4 legged ones to be an option.
At that point, Iād rather just have dragons playable outright, as a race. Only able to fight in Visage mode, of course.
Speaking of which, I do wonder what theyāre doing with all those eyes. All the draconic eye options were also added to existing playable races.
Perhaps. I wasnāt even thinking that theyād make them fly. The placement of their wings and body structure doesnāt look like theyād really allow for it anyway. More of a visual only thing. Does look like itād be a pain to animate due to all of that too.
Yeah, when they announced the Dracthyr, I was wondering why they didnāt just go with them being juvenile dragons going out into the world to help the mortals and learn from and about them.
Could have still had the dracthyr hybrid body form, but add a regular dragon form for flying and even combat, but scaled down maybe a little larger than druid cat form.
Is it because they use them for the dragon visage forms?
Still think dracthyr visage should have included everything too.
I would roll one.
It does. And donāt get me wrong - Iād love to see them take a crack at a quadrupedal playable race. But given that we got Dracthyr and not proper dragons wholesale, I doubt itās something theyād venture into at this point.
Ostensibly, it was because they wanted a humanoid form because a āfullā dragon - even small - would be too cumbersome. They exist as a compromise. One would think they would at least make lemonade and allow Dracthyr to benefit from the transmog system if weāre not going to be able to be full dragons, yet they made the choice to not allow us full access. As much as I love my Evoker, if I canāt transmog, Iād rather just be a full dragon, cumbersome or not.
There are a few visages that use them, but most are unused. There are dozens of options in there that simply arenāt utilized, let alone for the breadth of all the playable selection. Honestly, I wouldnāt be surprised if they have a plan to allow us to unlock them (as well as the primalist eyes).
More than roll one, Iād race change several characters to one. My Paladin and Warrior, for sure.
Would be a cool option. Iād still like to see Naga playable and theyāre even easier to do than quads.
Yeah, the route they went makes sense, but being able to have a full dragon form would have been pretty cool. Letting players choose which form to use for combat and such would have been neat. humanoid, hybrid, dragon or even go the druid route and build specs around the forms, although I still say druids need a lot more options in their animal forms. They should be regular releases like tier sets.
Thatād be pretty neat. Iāve noticed a lot of the npcs around Valdrakken use them.
Theyād be interesting, for sure, but I think their moments have passed.
The time for Drakonid is now.
Now that you mention it, I am noticing it on quite a few of the NPCs. Which has me thinking itās less likely that players will get it, as we arenāt dragons ourselves (a single race/class excepted).
Yeah, least Drakonid fit with the current expansion.
I think at this point, Iād rather see stuff added and make some small storylines to go along with the introduction like heritage quests/recruitment quests etc. Iām a bit tired of waiting to have things added that should have been done ages ago. Put together a team, who adds those kinds of things on the regular. If it coincides with an expansion where it fits, cool, but thereās plenty that needs adding and has already missed great opportunities.
Lots of races that would make fantastic additions. Necromancers and Tinkers would make great class additions. Could save some sort of void knight for the light/void expansion.
If weāre always waiting for a good opportunity, thereās a lot thatāll never get added.
Just make the opportunity, add it as side stories etc.
Hereās hoping they make an appearance on the roster before the expansion is out. My hope is that popular reaction to Dracthyr had them scrambling a little and Drakonid emerged as the solution. Itās not immediate damage control, but they would help immensely in positioning Blizzard as a developer that is actually in tune with the needs of their playerbase, even if there is a lengthy lead time on their responses.
Yeah itād be a cool addition and would make sense. People would like it, but same can be said about so many other additions people want and have been waiting ages for, so Iām not gonna try to get any hope up or expect it.
Would be cool to see them listening more to what people want to play as and adding them. Thereās a pretty long list and itād make players happy, which is always good for the game/business.
Keep dreaming we get chickenhead skinny femme dragons and you will like it.
If blizzard was gonna make these the playable dragon race donāt you think they woulda done it already?
Honestly Iād bet money we will see tuskarr first before we see anything close to the playable dragons you envision here. Tuskarr even have fully fleshed out animations as well go eat a Blubbery muffin , get muffin pilled.
I have always wanted to play as a Dragonspawn, which have been around since the WoW Beta - they have had both Casters and Melee - there are even some bigger ones with wings too!
Honestly? I donāt. Goblins, Worgen and Pandaren also had a few false starts. Same would be true for Drakonid. Itās one of the few races that have actually had intention to implement behind it. I think they only share that honour with ogres now.
