They’ve also stated that Worgen and Goblins were excluded from being Monks because of lore reasons as well.
Specifically, they stated that Gilneas was never visited by Pandaren, so there will probably never be playable Worgen Monks for that reason. They initially stated the same for Kezan, but that was retconned in Legion.
We also know that races are designed around culture kits as well. Worgen specifically follow British aesthetics, so the devs may have decided that the Monk class simply doesn’t fit the Worgen Gilnean identity in that regard.
They also may feel that Worgen Monks are too much of a “Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot” even for WoW, and that the devs feel that the Monk class is too much of the opposite of what the Worgen is in order for that race/class combination to work.
They are still operating on the lore aspect that Worgen are rage-filled and barely in control, so it’s not inconceivable that the devs feel that it is impossible for Worgen to achieve the inner peace necessary to become a Monk.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not opposed to the idea of Worgen Monks getting added as a new race/class combination. I just don’t think Worgen are ever going to get Monks because I see a whole bunch of ways for the devs to justify keeping the Monk class away from them.
Anyway, my point was that the devs think Mechagnome Monks make sense and don’t seem to like the idea of Worgen Monks.
However, it’s always possible that Worgen will eventually get Monks, even if it does seem unlikely.
