Mechaagnomes were and are still a failure by the dev team

Hey, they had to make at least something appealing to get people to play the diaper gnomes.

We call them trash gnomes round these parts. Well, I do anyway because that is what they are, trash gnomes.

even proper titanic mechagnomes would have been a bad option.

we needed something much better than vulpera and mechas.

Mecha-druids and Tinkers would save them.

Just my humble opinion.

Take an unplayed race, remove their transmog choices and make them physically repulsive and self-mutalating by lore.

Whats not to love.

They look great in tabards too. I love my Mechagnome hunter with her little spinning cogs and the idle animation that makes her look like a mech.

I like Mechagnomes.

I do think though, if the expanded customization had already been planned on, then Blizzard messed up by making them their own Allied Race, rather than rolling Mechagnome customization into Gnomes. The expanded hair colors and hairstyles would be awesome and you’d never hear people complaining about, ā€œDiaper Gnomes,ā€ because if they didn’t like the look they could pick fleshy legs.

That said, Mechagnome Racials are awesome and I’d be sad if Regular Gnomes couldn’t have gotten them.

THAT is a good idea, totally agree with you here.

To be fair, I feel like most Allied Races should have their customization rolled into the Core race they come from. It’d really solve a lot of complaints that came with, ā€˜lackluster,’ Allied Races, or in the case of Void Elves, it’d stop players from complaining about one side getting the other side’s whatever customization.

The only Allied Races left by doing that would be Vulpera, Zandalari, and Kul Tirans.

I’ll never understand min-max subordination.

I’d rather play badly, or not at all.

I think most allied races should have just been customization options for the the father race. Lightforged Draenei are super dumb, and it makes me mad that Moose Taren got HD totmes, but no one bothered to update the OG Tauren totems.

But… Blizz wanted those /played and MAU stats!

The fact that this is true and yet still virtually no one plays them speaks volumes.

The Alliance got an utter screwjob when it came to allied races.

Nailed it.

Void Elves are more popular than Vulpera. So, no…

Also, those wings are gorgeous. I’m jealous.

Reroll Forsaken and you won’t want to play the lesser races again.

Meanwhile the Sethrak are sitting right bloody there. The fact that they put in all that work with their design and animations only to dump them fifteen minutes in to BfA and never use them again should be criminal.

[This is my main]

The only reason I haven’t leveled that guy to 60 is because I haven’t started on my alts yet lmao.

Mechagnomes could be awesome but I agree they are an absolute failure.

Customization is horribly limited, boring and absolutely wrecks transmog choice.

Some of the things Mechagnomes should have by default to improve:

  1. Full mechanization options like EVERYONE ACTUALLY WANTED when we requested them for years on the old forums. This could be achieved lore wise by:
  • Having Mimiron visit his wayward children and offer up full mechanotech without the loss of gnomanity that the kings technology caused.
  • Or: having Ex-mechagon forces that were defeated be allowed to join if they are ā€œassimilatedā€ to not be inhuman killing machines.
  1. WHY did Vulpera get Monk (a class denied to Goblins) and Mechagnomes got NO NEW CLASS their parent race didnt already have? This was excellent opportunity to have a gnome Shaman or Druid via their high-tech gadgets.
  2. More actually unique appearances in terms of the fact that we are using so much technology in a cybernetic way: more leg and arm options, why not a wand-arm, a rifle-arm?

Why not double-jump and Glide for all mechagnomes via anti-grav pads on their fully mechanical feet?

A permanent jet-pack mount for gnome/Goblin/Mechagnome only.

Should be able to dye our mechanical parts on mechagon as well to better match the limited mogs that actually thematically work with the high-tech theme.

Id prolly say more but no one cares or reads, especially not the devs who put as little imagination as they could into yet another allied for the alliance.

hey, I played a mechagnome dk!

…then they took Frost out back and shot it-
