Anyone else think the survivability buffs for Prot Pally are meaningless and don’t address the issue whatsoever? It’s brutal how unbalanced this season is shaping up to be. As someone that pushes keys every season, this will be a season that I hit 3k and quit until blizzard actually does something with balancing

Yeah, i think the goal they are hoping for is that with the dmg increases maybe mastery will scale better? I’m not really sure what they are going for. I’m not gonna complain though our single target does feel kinda bad lol

It’s definitely going to help our single target. Our raid damage will be nice too. My complaint is that it really doesn’t help what we’re struggling with the most, which is surviving higher keys. This season feels terrible pushing keys
I havent really had any trouble but I haven’t pushed very high yet but I did tome a 12 with mostly champion gear, we are damn near unkillable inside our cd windows but outside of that not so much lol
It gets pretty rough in 12s and higher.. the magical tank busters will one shot you if you don’t have a defensive available. It just feels really bad to play right now.. like for 10s it’s fine, but if you actually want to push it’s not fun at all
Yeah I timed a 12 pos no problem and I’ve timed some 11s pretty much walking in them for thr first or just 2nd time. So I don’t think I’ll have those problems but yeah we definitely have to time everything around our defensives which isn’t any different than it’s been previously that much. Although not having 100% block with barricade of faith is a new feeling I don’t like that we ping pong like we do now
I was like.. Oh cool a better self heal when I’ve got damage debuffs. Then I noticed I have to give up getting Lay on Hands back faster.
Not much of a buff when you look at it that way.

Also the buff to the choice nod.. Both magical and physical attacks are crushing prot pally.. so now I get to choose which one is going to kill me… fun!
The buff is so pointless. I’m currently at 3130 IO and pushing 14/15s is nearly impossible. There’s just no way to compete or stay alive. You can pull big and survive during your windows but after that you are dead in the water. The spec reaches its ceiling here. There’s only about 70 prot pally who are over 3200! Buffing damage was thought less. 2% on a choice talent that isn’t used often and a slight armour increase on the same choice talent lmao. Increasing a self heal while we have a dot on will not stop us from getting dieing in a quarter of a second from 100.

have to assume part of the issue is bad dps/some specs (like brewmaster) are overpowered a bit
bad DPS can have great mythic+ score simply because brewmasters carry them
lots of instances i notice im keeping up DPS wise with DPS and those are hard runs, and the ones where DPS clearly knows what they are doing, my cooldowns can keep me alive pretty great. not at 3k yet but aiming for this week once i get more upgrades
I also notice im way more relaxed when the healer is a priest or mistweaver, they seem to be able to keep up much easier than other healers

Just use light of titans it’s more consistently strong 3specially paired with tempered in battle
We have insanely good aoe in our burst window
