Let’s say you really hate mcnuggets. Despise them. You then decide to order mcnuggets from the touch screen and then receive your fresh, hot 10 pack of mcnuggets.
Would you then complain on the McDonald’s forums about how you received the exact mcnuggets you ordered?
Apply this to making a horde character. You really hate long queues. Despise them. You then decide to order long queues from the game screen by making your character horde and then receive those sketchy, long queues.
Why do you then complain on the wow forums about receiving exactly what you ordered? It is common knowledge, and has been since the honor system in classic, that horde have extremely long queues.
It’s not a true analogy, I get it. A true analogy would have something to do with opposing teams paying the same admission for one to have to wait longer to play. But there simply isn’t one. World of warcraft is played by millions of people and it’s common knowledge horde is the more competitive pvp faction. I believe the mcnuggets analogy to be quite poignant.
Someone made a thread earlier about how alliance players left servers during phase 2 of classic due to horde camping flight paths. If they’re allowed to leave, why can’t the horde faction change for free?
The horde made a choice for longer queues with the trade off of better racials.
Alliance did not create their characters on phase 1 of classic with the knowledge of them going to be corpse camped in phase 2 at every flight path. Comparing the two is a false equivalence.
The MOMENT a choice is made and accepted about what your pvp experience is going to be, is the moment that complaints should be forfeit.
The solution? There is none unfortunately. Honor buffs won’t get alliance queueing. The solution is simply to reroll to alliance for short queues, or stay horde and accept the long ones.
This isn’t a very good analogy. If you order nugs, you obviously love nugs. You wouldn’t buy them if you hate them!
Keeping with the mcnugget analogy, let’s say there are 2 separate lines at the drive though. Everyone in line wants nuggets. But the red line moves suuuper slow, while the blue line is nearly instant. That sucks, right? What they aren’t telling you though, is that the nugs from the red line are always hot out of the frier and delicious. The blue line? Not so much. Those are cold, gross, and at least 5 of the nuggets are afk every meal!
It doesn’t really work because it’s still one line in the end. I tried the theme park analogy too.
You can’t not go to a theme park and then be upset by long queues. Unfortunately this analogy also doesn’t work because it’s one line. Not two lines where 1 goes quicker. Except the fast pass lane. But you need to pay extra for that. So it doesn’t work for wow.
The cold mcnuggets analogy also doesn’t doesn’t because you didn’t order cold mcnuggets. That is a legitimate complaint just like afk players in battlegrounds.
If you wanted to use the McNuggets analogy, try this one:
Its like you eat nothing but Mcdonald’s and nuggets for 6 months straight. And now you’re overweight and getting treated for diabetes and a heart condition.
So now you go to McDs headquarters insisting that they change all their recipes and start steaming their proteins, baking their fries etc… just because you apparently can’t stop eating food that is obviously not good for your health.
Gotta change everything for everyone, cause you have no restraint.
I think a lot of people just specifically had the intention of building arena comps around Hardiness and WoTF to give an edge against things like rogue/lock/x. And friends of friends of friends all followed suit. In Wrath the meta will shift around Human and EMFH. I kinda wanna be here for the Alliance version of “OMG BG QUEUESWTTFFTFTT” lol.
It is very interesting that many alliance players have this assumption that we all knew the que times would be like this. A small minority of people were aware and knew what they were in for, but the vast majority of us did not anticipate this.
You’re telling me that I should accept the fact that I must wait 1 hour for each bg que, to get between 250-500 honor points, for a total of 25 times in order to purchase the cheaper pvp item (the wrists), and I have no right to complain or even try to address this issue? In what world do you think that is acceptable. Alliance players need to stop assuming we all knew exactly what was gonna happen, it is outrageous that you guys think we know what we signed up for.
Furthermore, stop using a small sample size of pvp servers where alliance were getting camped at a flightpath, you should see incendius and how awful it is for horde there as well. It’s a PvP server, world PvP is one thing, Battlegrounds is another. You realize you’re indirectly telling us that we should shut up and accept what we chose for ourselves and be content with the idea that it will take us 200+ hours to get our PvP gear, right?
You guys need to stop assuming that we’re all mindless idiots who knew what we were getting in to with the que timers, furthermore, can you at least acknowledge how terrible the honor gains are and how difficult it is to get PvP gear? Well, not difficult, more like insanely grindy when compared to PvE heroics
Your words, not mine. And notice that I’m also a horde main.
How on earth did the vast majority of the playerbase go Horde and not understand this. Did you play in classic vanilla? Were you Horde or ally? Did you really not understand that with the addition of Blood elves and paladins, only more of the playerbase would swap over to Horde?
Do you have no idea about the demographics on retail, and how its also vastly dominated by Horde in both top-end pvp and pve? Its so bad in pve there, the only way that Alliance even finished the Hall of Fame achievement is by massive amounts of Chinese boosters. Well-documented. Of course, many of the boosters/account pilots were banned afterwards, but Blizz allowed the achievement to remain because there was literally no other way that Alliance could complete the goal while it was current content.
Ironforgepro is the only current source with any kind of numbers available, shows overall NA is ~52-48 Horde Favor.
Again, until Blizzard itself actually gives us numbers, it’s the best we have. It’s barely reliable, but a hell of a lot more reliable than “I play alliance and got camped 2 years ago so horde outnumber us everywhere on every server ever.”
Agreed. And since this thread is about pvp… remember that ironforge_pro uses reports from Warcraftlogs (aka raiders.) There are many ppl that only pvp. And the extreme vast majority of those are horde players.
So the situation is actually worse than even Ironforge_pro shows. Or, if you’re one of super masses that flocked to horde (like me) then the situation is better? Idk, lol.
Yes, this is why I disagree that it’s a player made problem. Until Blizzard actually gives players the tools to see server stats, like actual total population (full/high/medium/low is absolutely meaningless, even a number range would be far better) and faction balance (percentages would be fine here), then I do not see how it’s an actual player made issue. Even though it feels like we could be 60-40 Ally favor, and still have long Horde queues due to the majority of Alliance not PvPing.
They liked the horde, so they played the horde? crazy logic they had there what were they thinking? I dont like any alliance race enough to play it, thats not an option i would do.
i wouldnt play an alliance race, dont like how they look. the classic humans are really weird and i got tired of the short races after playing one for years
