I do think if they drop toons off back into classic era that some may stay for a little while, I think it will help build up classic era a little bit, I feel like more people would of stayed in classic if they knew how boring tbc would get. I moved on to tbc and now I’m over it and want classic again, but I don’t want to start era again because of the som fresh servers coming out, but I think I’ll hang around in era for a little while at the end of the 12 month cadence.
Yeah maybe the end of the season will feel more like a soft cap.

These were months back they sent two separate ones. I got one of them, my friend got both though.
It was a random sampling poll sent out to players. We don’t know what the exact results of it were, but we can assume at least a plurality of respondents said they’d prefer a 12 month cycle.

Should be no less than 3 months for each phase with a new 40 man. As it is right now, they’re at 2 months.
Maybe. If they make new raids, or new dungeons, or add heroic dungeons - it would be fine. Needs more loot options for those unlucky in raids. But that might be something for future seasons if this ones a complete failure.
The quicker, the better for Blizzard. They’d do 6 months if they could. Shorter seasons = more bursts of subs. That’s all that really matters to them.
But that would just be short term thinking, no?
If seasons are done well they make more money on the long run.
Bro this is classic. Heroic dungeons? Really? The loot scarcity it created on purpose. 12 months is literally done to keep you lower on gear

I was under the impression that content was released over a 12 month period. I dont think that implies classic SOM will be then “over…” You just wont be BIS when new raids drop… If anything, it’ll also give blizzard an idea of how to scale the raids in future Fresh releases.

I understand your sentiment. But at the same time, my friends already know that 12 months is too fast for them.
I think a lot of people care about their character as well as the actual game mechanics.

Should be 18 months because blizz made me invest in their crappy clone feature so I could stay in a dead RP-PVP server on classic.
I would care more about this if SoM wasn’t the third iteration of that particular game. Classic’s pace was a bit too slow. SoM’s pace will probably be a bit too fast. Guessing a 1.25 year pace is about right. Also guessing that’s what the next season will be.

Did Blizzard definitively announce after 12 months, SOM would be shut down? Or, will it go on somewhat longer than 12 months to give people time to catch up if they have a busy work schedule or want to make more than 1 character???
It doesn’t look like they are revolving the game around caring if you catch up. I would just assume the server is over. Give or take a month, if you’re worried about losing your char I wouldn’t even play
