I hit character cap once, realized I might have a problem and deleted whole servers worth of characters

I have 4 realms, 2 I use one is Horde the other Alliance, one realm is for family visitors to play on and one is what I call my ādeadā realm where I once played but donāt anymore but I have invested time in the toons and donāt want to delete them along with their gold/matts. I do try different AR but none rite now excite me. I do want a Z-Troll tho. Emotionally I think most of us are tied to our toons and find it hard to ādeleteā them.

Iām in the same spot as you I dont simple have room for 3 ally races atm i still need to roll for achievement im missing Ztrolls Mechagnomes and Foxs i need atleast 3 more slots to roll those and feels like going keep adding more ally races form shadowlands later on I donāt like it has never been updated yet
He is preparing for covenants.

Itās not hard to hit 50 if you have one of each class on each faction. Then originals who were abandoned on dead servers, new races and classes added. Sometimes you even get the itch or urge to level something up a different way, enjoy the game to the fullest.
p.s. Also throughout the years there have been events where you could level alts super fast. legion invasion, korrak, scroll of resurrection gave a free 80 i think too.

if you make 2 of every class for each faction youāre only left with 1 more to makeā¦ they need to increase the cap. or make it so all transmog is unlock regardless of class

easy answer: as collector you want as many as you can to keep rolling for a mount/toy you want to get.
We could have another discussion on how the drop rates are stupid but everytime this is brought on people gets way too emotional (muh pixels) just like bringing old removed content back.

I also have 50. Most are at 120 or close to there.
How did I do it? I played consistently for over 10 years and made a new character whenever I wanted something to do.
100 character limit would be

I made a second account. Though Iāve recently done a purge of the characters I donāt see myself playing so Iāve got 60 spaces between the two.

Iām at 40 characters currently, and Iām trying to save the 10 remaining slots for future new races and classes. Itās a bit hard, as there are some character ideas I want to create now, and eventually when I do hit the 50 character cap, I donāt want to have to delete characters to make one of a new race or class.
Iām hoping the cap will increase per account. Iād even be willing to pay a one-time fee for more slots as needed. I love all my characters, and character creation is one of my favorite parts of a MMORPG. I really donāt want to have to delete any characters to be able to make more.
More character slots per account would make me very happy.

Well said Bagzak this pretty much how every wow player feels about characters at least the ones who really love game and there characters. Sadly im Capped and need more slots and hope rasie the cap 60 or let me buy for 1 time fee as well

Not that hard really, for many of us it just kinda happened as a result of sticking to the same account for 15 years. Following friends to new servers, making new race/class combos, scratching an itch to levelā¦ it piles up, and before you know it youāve capped your account and are faced with figuring out which characters have the least attachment so you can delete them to make room for new characters.
I personally hit that point ~4 years ago and by now have deleted nearly all the characters Iām willing to delete.

Depends on how much you play the game and what you spend that time on. Someone mentioned quarantine and yeah, I think some people were in quarantine long before covid was a thing. Just saying.
