Now we need some Naked Maw-rats…

I’ve got two things to tell you. One: I don’t like you. I see you every week in this maw. I don’t like you shiftless layabouts. You’re one of those mawrat kids. You don’t come to the maw to shop or work. You hang out and act like you live here. Well, I have no respect for people with no shopping agenda.

Mawrats are my best friends in higher layers.

I don’t like them, but they have their uses. Mostly it involves killing them so no, they should stay, so that they can serve their purpose for helping me when I so desire it.

They’re definitely an annoyance, but I’m glad that they don’t aggro other mobs when they flee (not yet, anyway). I could see them making them aggro mobs when they flee in the 18-level twisting corridor or whatever it’s called, or maybe in higher up layers later on. I felt from the start that they wanted you to actually care whether the mawrats ran away or not.

I just let the little buggers run away, wait till they get to the next pack then blow them up like little Monster seeking plague bombs!

I love the mawrats! I hit them until they run off, and use them as little aggro keepers so I stay in combat and don’t spawn buffed asssassins. They have NEVER pulled aggro running away, and saves me a lot of trouble and time not having to deal with buffed assassins while out of combat. I kill them when I see a new one and rinse/repeat.

Plus the HP boost and splash damage. Yes please.

I have to admit, when I was doing layer 8 of fracture chambers last week I liked having the little dudes around to prevent assassins from spawning. I don’t think that’s an intentional mechanic however and I expect it to be removed, i.e. assassins will still spawn if the only thing aggroing you is a mawrat.

Yeah wouldn’t surprise me, but it is a nice thing to do for now

i took my DK through Torghast finally, got the exploding mawrat, the one where they dont run away, and the add health when you kill them. grip and tag multiple rats into a crowd of mobs in a room and they explode like the 4th of july and kill everything… that was some good times

I loathe those little intercoursers, which is why turning them into tiny little plague bombs is so fulfilling.

Yeah? Wait till you see hundreds of ancient geezers walking around the “Maw” for exercise. Getting in everyone’s way. Geezer PDAs. Mobbing the “Mawbucks”. Now that… is Hell.

but they look pretty adorable, how can you hate them?

Ve’nari sells an item for stygia that gives you an instakill aura, which works on maw rats. You don’t even need to notice them, they just explode.

I could be you from the alternate timeline where you rolled a mage on Proudmoore, and went all in getting the Timelord title from Deaths of Chromie, and heroic armor set from DragonSoul. It goes nicely with the arcane mage class hall mount!

Or I saw your name, and decided to post, purely for laughs.

I think they’re cuter when they give you a 2% health buff. Should be a permanent feral buff, eating rats and all.
