So just to put myself at ease with this, is the Stygia loss that big a deal? I will be more careful next time. In the moment I was worried and didn’t want to fall behind my friend who was also trying to save all that we could in a hellish situation. I was just worried that because they got the last daily done and didn’t suffer the big stygia loss I did that I had fallen behind in my progression in that zone and that we would not be on the same path going forward there.
It’s not a hot plate sorry it’s supposed to be a FUN GAME.
you are both wrong demon souls and dark souls is the same thing same devs
demon souls was a new thing the the devs saw it popular and expanded it creating the dark souls story
which ended
and became sekiro last i heard but i havent seen or heard of any new dark soul games since
No. Stygia is just for Maw/Torghast upgrades and like 1 legendary which isn’t BiS or anything. Also it seems to me like you will be more reputation gated than Stygia gated.
So basically we should just go for doing the same mount of dailies in the Maw tomorrow and have me try to get 1 more to basically be on the same rep? Assuming they all give the same. I don’t remember.
Elden Ring is the upcoming new game. Also really the originator of dark souls is not demon souls but King’s Field
really… i could of sworn they were same devs maybe im thinking of blood borne
They are all the same devs. King’s Field, Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring are all From Software.
o wait i mis understood! king fields is a game i thought was a company haha
okay i get it now
The Maw is basically another bad copy of an XIV concept. In XIV you have something Bozja, its like a huge open world instance battle. You can group with players inside the instance freely, hunt world bosses, do world quests, etc etc all of it gains a resource that you use to rank up and other resources used to buy rewards, and ultimately increases your strength inside Bozja as well as assist in other things outside of the zone. If you die in Bozja, you lose some of the resources you gathered. There are also critical engagements against HUGE bosses that limit entry and are unique boss fight experiences that are as good as any raid boss, as well as a massive final battle critical engagement at the end where you storm the fortress and do an entire fully realized raid ALA wintergrasp but a lot longer and again all with the risk vs. reward because the time window to win is steep.
The problem is more that because the Maw is not instanced and is instead just an open world, there’s no guarantee you will have players around to make the formula actually work, so instead its more like playing an MMO alone in a sea of trash mobs and being told to grind them and that is somehow supposed to be fun. Its like Bozja but without other players, without critical engagements, without the fun rewards, and without interesting world bosses. It just has the risk and reward open world grind idea with a resource. Its like the pre-alpha bozja lol.
I’m alright with it but I’m salty because I lost a lot of stygia due to a disconnect and couldn’t log in for a bit. That’s just silly imo. I feel like there shouldn’t be a timer on it at least.
yo if you runned back to ur corpse u are getting back the stagya lost ya know by looting ur own body
Diablo 2 had The Maw didn’t it?
But it was fun, Especially after everyone had God Mode with downloaded hacks.
Should have weighed your risk and said oh it’s too dangerous to go back let me just cut my losses.
Way to miss the point.
Lol, wait until you try going in to the second area of The Maw. I tried going there for just the hell of it, and ohhhhhh boyyyyy… You’re all in for a rude awakening. If you think the area you’re going through right now is a chore, hahaha…
I feel that, once I was nearing that 5 star, I hearthed out. umm… when you go into the maw, bring some horde gliders with you. you can actually use the dudes who bring you up as a quick way to get height and use em as a launching point for your glider.
A couple of tips.
As soon as you have enough to buy a permanent upgrade do so. Your going to buy it eventually and for the time being, stygia spent is stygia you can’t lose.
Once you get all the permanent upgrades pick up some of the 5 charged items they save a ton of time and can hep prevent possible deaths.
If you see a robo bear you can jump on it as a mount for 40 sec.
Sorry that you’re not having fun in Hell.
Older MMos had you losing progress when you died before Demon souls was even a thing. You guys don’t know your history at all.
Also the maw isn’t even that hard. Just watch where you’re going and don’t rush into things and you will literally never die. I spent like 2 hours in there mining for Elethium not one death.
