So, I was testing out Chronostatic Preservation and per its tooltip its states “This spell is considered Arcane, Fire, and Frost for interactions with other spells, talents, and effects.”. However, when speced into Mastery of elements per Fire tree which states " Your spell criticals will refund 15/30% of their base mana cost." Every Crit I get with Chronostatic Preservation is not returning mana. Is this a bug or I’m I missing something?
Probably either deliberate or an oversight.
There are examples of this across the board of interactions that say they interact with talents that “affect X” but don’t actually do so.
Balance Druid is one of the best examples where Starsurge is supposed to benefit from Wrath/Starfire triggers, but in reality only benefits from 2-3 and doesn’t interact with over half.
This bug is documented here among a variety of other annoying mage issues: Mage Feedback RE: Aggrend Request!
