Massive lag

I am getting massive lag when i hit a command or try to open something or interact with a object same with getting on my mount there is a 3-6 sec lag is there a way to fix this i have tried uninstalling the game and removing my addons along with dumping the cash all the wow website sead to do. my internet is all good

I would start by running WinMTR to look for any issues along the way between you and the server. The internet is not a straight line between you and the destination, and any issue between you and server can cause higher than normal latency.

It should be noted that testing services such as YouTube or normal web browsing isn’t really a good indicator as to whether your internet is “good”.

Check the following support article for instructions on how to run the WinMTR!

When that’s done, post your reply with the results within a code block (</> in the post control toolbar).

I’m having similar timeouts, for both US Central and US West tracert requests, at the same hop. No issues when running to Google or Discord servers/IPs.

 8 13 ms 15 ms 25 ms 50.208.235.6
  9 * 68 ms 67 ms ae1-br01-eqdc2.as57976.net [137.221.72.33]
 10 * * * Request timed out.
 11 * * * Request timed out.
 12 70 ms 68 ms 67 ms et-0-0-0-pe01-swlv10.as57976.net [137.221.83.81]
 13 69 ms 68 ms 67 ms 137.221.105.2

Regarding the timeouts, that would be considered normal as some nodes are configured to not reply to ping requests.

Although a tracert is a good tool to quickly check the status of a connection, WinMTR is a much better tool as it gathers data over time. We’d be able to see if there are any dropped packets, and also at what point the drops occur.

Running WinMTR for both West and Central, plus my Discord voice channel. Seems it might have resolved itself, but if I get booted off a bunch I’ll repost.

I’m also having super strange lag. It’s taking a couple of seconds to interact with objects, loot is taking 2-4 seconds to update, maybe one second for instant cast spells like Arcane Explosion, and yet my game says I’m at 24ms latency.

Here’s my WinMTR Output:

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider

Hi Vaelathrian

WinMTR looks fine. Have you tried a full UI reset as a test.

As I mentioned this is a test. If it doesn’t help simply remove the OLD from your original folders then delete the new folders the game installed. This will return your original settings

I’ll give that a go right now. The two lines “No response from host” aren’t a problem?

Perfectly normal - most WinMTR show those. Simply a big switch configured to not return test packets. Security configuration or simply too busy to bother.

Having some issues personally myself. Here is my WinMTR output:

Things look good there MVP - wish that was my WinMTR nice low 25ms. You might try the UI reset as a test as well.

Do you know if the one for aoe-br01-eq1a1 is any good? I do notice the average for that one is fairly high, and it spikes up to around 800 at times. Not sure which one that is for, but generally I’m just spiking a ton. Tried UI reset, tried resetting my internet fully (booting off router for 1 minute and turning on), not sure what else to try

Now you point that out I took a closer look - I thought 193ms was the biggest spike there but I see it is the average. That could be an issue.

That is a big backbone switch - looks like possibly the handoff to the backbone from Cox. Those types of issues generally get fixed.
