Marksmanship's Spec/Class Tree + Overall Discussion

I don’t think I’ve ever used Scare Beasts. So, given it’s such a niche talent, it probably should be baseline.
Then again, so should Banish for Warlocks, however…

I hear that sentiment but because it’s so niche having the option to spec into it is not that bad of an idea if the time ever comes. It’s actually neat tho that point lS expensive lol

Marksmanship is a Hunter spec, part of the Hunter Class. The Class can: equip any ranged weapons doing physical damage. can use Hunters traps. can use Hunters pets. No Hunter spec has to use these things. It’s the fact that they can that binds these three specs into a Class.

But nothing is written in stone, and it’s becoming apparent these ‘specs’ need have nothing in common. You have not noticed any calls to remove the Markmans pet? No calls for a Ranger spec, to be built on the back of the MM spec?
I have, and I personally group them together as wanttobe ‘Rangers’, because they ARE, in my eyes, not any conspiracy or organized group, just other players wanting things as they would have them, just like me.

What is this about? When I signed up as a Hunter, we all got pets. Such is still the case. Here is my take on Lore:
A MM handles the dps, the pet handles the aggro. This is how I play. I’m not looking to make others use a pet, but I do resent others calling for my pets removal.

It’s about your claiming that there has never been any basis for (non-female) pet-less ranged weapon users within the Warcraft universe, and claiming that anyone asking the ability to access MM’s full kit without a pet is ignorant of the lore… while clearly having next to zero knowledge of the setting prior to the vanilla WoW cinematic.

Except you’ve asked across multiple threads now for the removal of Lone Wolf and have argued against every suggestion to separate access to the effects of Master’s Call, Primal Rage, and Fortitude/Survival from one’s pet. (Suggestions which, btw, usually come from the same people advocating that Lone Wolf not have any unique damage bonus relative to the combined damage of hunter and pet.)

That is asking for every spec, regardless of whether they have anything to do with pet usage, to have to use a pet.

And, again — where? Where is that happening? A forum search of any variation on the idea shows only people asking either merely for Lone Wolf parity or comments given under a condition (“if using a pet would otherwise be impossible to balance against not doing so”). You keep claiming there’s this big, bad group wanting to “remove MM pets altogether,” but any search shows exactly the opposite.

I have seen requests for choice, as opposed to the pathetic back-and-forth of dismissing our pet for AoE and being forced to pre-summon it before any fight where we’ll need MC or PL. No, I have not seen requests for MM pets’ outright removal outside of extreme hypotheticals.

Until Hunter’s Mark is similarly oGCD, I would happily avoid that hill.

I’d much rather just see Mortal Wounds be applied by Cobra (stacking) and Raptor/Mongoose (stacking), or Kill Command (stacking or short duration), and Aimed Shot (1-and-done, as it used to be).

Alright, wrapped up a video guys. My personal thoughts on Marksmanship for Dragonflight now that mostly everything is fixed.

I’m taking a look at the current iteration of Marksmanship. Any ideas, wishlists, and the like will be for another time. This video is specifically looking at what is available/testable in the Dragonflight Beta right now (as of Oct 8th)

The video will be released to the public at 12pm EST but you guys get to see it first! - Dragonflight: Marksmanship Hunter Overview

They said rapid fire is mandatory… >.>

Interesting. I’m sorry, I missed that information. The tree makes even less sense now.
