As a SV hunter from ye olden days: it’s changing, and you’ll have to cope. Either find a new main (I hopped to Shadow Priest when that happened but will probably give new MM a spin), play the re-worked single pet BM, or quit – yes, it kinda sucks for those who liked that play style but more MM hunters -did not- want/like the pet aspect anymore.
It is what it is.

Oh yeah, if blizzard doesn’t do it, I’ll unsub instead! Now what, huh?

in addition to removing pets, they should also make MM the melee spec. Wouldnt that be hilarious? Hunters would be so mad! Please do it blizz!
the funny part is that most of us hunters that are trying to make sense of this change are ex ranged survival hunters. i been a survival hunter since launch. then when legion launch i deleted that spec from my brain. now this. i dont care as much about pets being removed from mm as i did with survival going melee. but dumb changes are dumb changes, all the same.

It’s RNG… That’s it. They gave y’all an RNG tactical nuke and y’all complained it away. MM was going to be broken strong on release of 11.1 it happens every time they make big changes or introduce something new.
But y’all didn’t want that. Y’all didn’t want the spotlight for a couple weeks. Invited to every group you apply to.
Because giving your pet a corny name and sitting it in the stables forever is more fun?

why are you so pro pets being removed?
the changes can still go ahead. everything can stay the course. you can still play mm the way they will be reimagining it. but if someone that is out doing a delve and wants to summon their pet as mm leave it as an option.
explain to me how that hurts you?
explain to me how that hurts the spec?
explain to me how that hurts the revamp?
it changes nothing is all we are saying. you are acting like the changes cannot be made because joe blow still has the ability to summon his pet in a +2 delve.

If you want to still use a pet, you have the option of playing Beast Master hunter

chill out dude, most players don’t even know how to manage their pets. this is a good change.

I’m impressed you got away with using caps lock in the title.
The 11.1 MM changes are good. They’ll continue to iterate on it in future patches.

Seriously, this change seems aimed at trying to get rid of the “Huntard” stereotype.
The arguments make it seem like they chose Hunter specifically to troll groups by making their pets pull the entire dungeon because they forgot to dismiss before jumping.
The fix apparently is already in. But if we keep making enough noise then maybe they will have second thoughts about taking something AWAY from one group of customers in order to satisfy another, I believe, smaller group. You just need to keep plugging away. All those trying to shout you down know this is true, that is why they are trying to convince you to stop or quit the game.

That’s not gonna happen. Blizzard isn’t going to let 10k of 5m players change their decisions.
Businesses will just as soon watch that 10k walk away and smile as a new 10k takes their place.
MM hunters are such a small number of the community, Blizzard’s accounting wouldn’t even notice the lack of their subs. Cry all they want but we all know they aren’t going to unsub. They will keep their sub and wailing into the endless void, and won’t even notice they started liking the new MM until it’s changed again and their calling for it to stay the same again.
Humans are scared of change, it’s a base part of our DNA. But change is inevitable and necessary for anything to thrive.
I’m anxious for the rework of DH we are almost certainly getting at some point in the WSS. So many options I’m anxious to see which path they’ve chosen for us.

I think you are wrong. We will have to see how it plays out to see who is. The fact that you are fighting so hard against all these posts to make people think how you want them to is evidence to me that it CAN work. You are just feeding the fire. So, keep it up. Please respond to this again, and we can have yet another thread about hating the removal of hunter pets with hundreds of replies.

The only thing I’m trying to convince anyone of is to hold your tongues and get your hands on the new version.
Because evidence proves, every time Blizz changes a class or introduces a new class it is crazy strong until they bring it down to normal. So I can confidently say this new MM format was going to be strong on release.
The extremism makes me laugh. As a community we are incredible at overreacting to things and jumping to an extreme immediately.
You’re right, we won’t know if I’m right of their right until it’s Live and Huntards can get their hands on it.
The point most of us are arguing is MM didn’t use a pet to begin with, adding an RNG pet is no different than “did annihilation trigger another death sweep on my Meta” it’s burst damage tied to RNG.
To anyone that’s paid attention to the arguments, it’s clear that their only complaint truly is they won’t be able to name their eagle Eddie or some other corny name and then sit it in a stable forever.

MM are supposed to be deadly snipers… not pet tamers. Taking pets away for the spec is long overdue. Lrn2BM I guess?

That’s beastmaster, not MM.
Literally. You cannot tame all types of pets as MM, only as a BM can you do that.
Just accept that you’ll have a better rotation, a stronger thematic specialization, and better gameplay. If pets matter that much to you, the solution is to play BM - just like how it has been like that since specializations became a thing.

Roll BM, Surv, or unsub if allat is a deal breaker.
Also MM Lone Wolf > MM w/ pet anyway.

Spam spam spam spam spam.
I think MM will go through some more adjustment but the new changes are here to stay.
More visual customization for the eagle is definitely a necessity and some players are reporting on the PTR that the spotting eagle itself is barely visible, if at all, at times.
You guys will have an easier time working with the devs if you just accept the new path going forward and do your best to adjust that to your own interests as much as possible, rather than demanding they completely remove these changes.
