Marks of Honor - Embarrassing Maintenance Time

So, does mail freeze when the servers are down for 11 hours? Or am I about to loose like, 50 Marks?

Oof, Activision, if you’re going to milk a company’s ip, you might wanna make sure you let everyone know the cow may or may not be anywhere close to when you said it’d be ready.

Edit: Does anyone know if mail freezes when the servers are down?

You’re about to lose like, 50 marks.

Planning to play on patch day is a mug’s game.

I mean…that’s on you that you decided to use the mailbox as a temporary storage system which is 100% unintended. You took a risk, not blizzard’s fault. It’s a pre-expansion patch day, you should always expect stuff to go to extended maintenance.

I’ve asked for and had emails restored. Of course I was told it was 1) a one time thing and 2) don’t use mail as storage.

It was a calculated risk. They’ve pushed back maintenance 4 times now? It’s wildly unprofessional.

If Activision tasked the proper amount of employees out instead of nickel and diming the pre-patch launch, I am 100% sure this would have gone much more smoothly. It’s only pre-patch for gods’ sakes.

Yeah, they better give back the mail. It’s crazy. I even took into account that it might be later and started my farm at 2pm. This is wild.

Just because it’s unintended, doesn’t mean it’s not a valid mechanic in the game. Blizzard knew players were doing it, and with the fact the prepatch is only 2 weeks, should be willing to restore the lost marks due to their own incompetence. They’ve already screwed us out of a decent prepatch experience, now they’re just going to say firetruck it and skip straight to xpansion. #ServersUpSoon™

Yeah, Blizzard has known that people use the mail as storage for more than a Decade, it is not as if this is a new game and it was “unintended” lol… In terms of storage Wow was badly designed.

Anyways, the biggest question I have is, why so much worries about marks? Are people so want to get the rank 14 weapons? You will replace them as soon as you hit level 61 anyways with the first Green you get.

Can we get a blue post on this please. Tons of people are getting screwed here. Just freeze the mailbox.

You can go back to retail. If you think HWL weapons get replaced by 61 greens you’ve never played OG/TBC or even got in the beta.

all the weapons last until around then for most classes

Ya an MoM last till crafted 70 lol

I waited until 9pm last night calculating that I would be safe to play some AV. I played 8 games won 2 lost 6. The 6 l lost were so gods awful that I ended up fishing in AV for the first time.

I’ll loose 12 marks but at least all have the fish!

r14 weapons are extremely good

some classes do not replace until 70

some replace in late 60s

Technically, yeah some last a bit longer, but still, the difference is not “that” great. By the time you hit 70, which can be in 2 weeks time you will not use any of them guys.

Which was my main point, (since you missed it), is it worth it to obsess about this for something you will use for 2 weeks or less?

PS: My original Character is still in Live btw with Vanilla Title, achievements and all, I originally played on Eredar PvP server.

It makes the leveling experience easier, and some would say better. And your point was not that you replace them in two weeks, it was you replace them at 61 (since you missed it). That’s a big difference, seeing as the leveling experience is the reason people are grinding the weapons/gear. So should we be upset that we played by Blizzards rules and followed their timeline, just to be told our efforts were futile because Blizzard can’t hold up their end of the arrangement? Especially considering we’re PAYING them to do a service, and they aren’t providing?

Goal post moving Andy. Lasting till 67+ is not 61. They’re really good weapons that last a while and Blizz is screwing people over by not releasing the game when they said they would, whether you personally care about it or not. Stop being a Debbie Downer.

Yes you are right guys, I remember now using the Grand Marshal Bow to almost 70 but that I had gotten some green Crossbow that was competing at around 64-65 if memory serves as a quest reward.

Nevertheless thought, while I did say 61, it was a way speak and not meant to be taken literally either, to say that all the 60 purple gear is only a couple weeks from being useless.

I simply do not think it is worth the emotional distress some are expressing even. Albeit I would agree that Blizzard kinda dropped the puck here on many people who are moving to TBC, with today’s delays.

I’m gonna jump the gun here and assume that you guys straight up just said screw it. The mail was giving you an insane amount of bugging and so you just deleted it.

I have pages and pages of empty letters in my mailbox saying that I should have Marks of Honor respective to the battleground I earned them in. I kept track of them (thank god) for my own sake.

I had:
12 - WSG
14 - AV
34 - AB

That was hours, and hours of my life I spent farming those. And because of your catastrophic blunder with the launch of the pre-patch, are now gone.

May I please…have my Marks.
