Prelude
The Helm of Domination has been shattered, and chaos reigns. While some of Azeroth’s greatest leaders and champions have gone missing, the Scourge, who have mysteriously become a renewed threat, have made their way from Icecrown to the other continents of Azeroth.
The following is an ambitious project which has come to light through amazing collaboration between players from all factions. We hope to provide those role-players whose characters have stayed behind on Azeroth with an immersive world context through various opt-in events spanning cities and zones throughout the world.
How it works
This year-long campaign is entirely opti-in. Players can choose to completely ignore that it is happening, or incorporate any or all parts of it into their own character’s, guild’s or community’s storylines. Our story will span the entire 2021 calendar year and will be told in four chapters.
Each chapter will have an entirely different theme and feel. There will be a clear conclusion to each chapter, followed by a two-week break while we prepare for the next. The goal is to provide as much diversity in role-play events and themes as possible.
By November, assuming there is a BlizzCon this year, we might know what the next expansion will be and get a glimpse at what Azeroth will look like after Shadowlands. This will allow us to conclude things or set up a new campaign to help bridge the gap between expansions.
Weekly events
For roughly ten weeks in a row, there will be events held weekly. On certain weeks, an event will happen in both a Horde and Alliance city, on back to back nights, on Fridays and Saturdays at 5pm WrA-Pacific/7pm MG-Central time. In other weeks, one event will take place in a Neutral city or town. Players can choose to participate in as few or as many events as they like. Evolving story and world
During all of chapter 1, it will be assumed that each city is being attacked in a concentrated and coordinated plan by the scourge. All cities will go through the same phases at the same time. In other words, the events we see happening in Orgrimmar or Stormwind one week will be assumed to have happened in roughly the same way in other cities. The next week, the story will pick up where we left off, but in an entirely new place.
Weekly updates
We will use this WrA thread to update the entire server population on the evolving state of the story and world each week. The title of the thread will be updated as well to indicate a story update, event invitation or other type of post, if needed.
