I enjoy levelling too but the point is I’ve never seen such a contrived argument about spec representation as one that focuses on levelling. What does it matter if a spec is less played during the levelling experience if it ends up being more popular later on?
But I think that’s besides the point anyway. I’m convinced he chose that argument because he knows you can’t prove a spec’s popularity or unpopularity in levelling. Not only does no one track it but there’s really no good way to track it. Survival could have been a really popular levelling spec or really unpopular and we wouldn’t know. He’s just stalling the discussion because he knows his position isn’t a good one to start with.
i agree with this. when i play it i just feel like nothing is happening and there’s nothing cohesive. it’s just random skills hunters had before thrown together.
Without particular talent choices it very much is that. It has less baseline mechanical complexity than BM. All its engagement comes from talents, primarily Wildfire Infusion, and although that gives it mechanical involvement it doesn’t make the spec feel like any less of a confused blend of random concepts thrown together.
I think the Bep is correct here. Baseline, there are no mechanical interactions for SV - you only gain complexity from talents. BM manages Frenzy stacks as a core mechanic. I’m not saying it’s difficult, but it is more complex than pressing buttons when they’re off CD.
That’s a different argument. Saying you find it boring is an opinion, saying “there’s nothing cohesive” is a disputable statement. as such if you believe the latter I’m left with the only logical option, that you don’t understand the spec.
This argument t though can be said about any of the hunter specs. People cry to the moon now about how you can afk and play BM. The pets do everything, blah blah blah. I have not touched MM but basically from what I see, a lot of players are using rapid fire and AS. All of this is setup through talents. So pls stop like the other specs could stand up without the talents. They can not.
Yet again, its opinions. Everyone’s will be different. I am having fun as SV. slowly climbing the gear grind and soon the pvp grind. Have I been kicked from groups, not yet, but you always get the forum warrior here and there, and by the end of the run when I am ahead of such person, then they have nothing to say. But alas that’s wow in a nutshell.
Whole threads on this dead horse. RSV is not coming back. If it does, it will most likely be a very large mix of melee and range. The classic RSV is dead. It has ask to stop being beaten.
Without Thrill of the Hunt it is definitely annoying with some sort of tracker. At least with thrill of the hunt you can just watch that buff and your pet should have the same amount of stacks.
As opposed to shooting a crossbow and pressing a button that does literally nothing because its your pet doing the attacks. Right. Hunter as a whole is the least impactful class in the game in terms of gameplay.
