Mana will probably be the reason why i'll eventually stop playing

Dont worry, my classic toon is a warrior and he is very fun. :sunglasses:

I just assumed you was a monk anyways.

Id add i prefer ranged. I have melee too always have but i find ranged of any kind easier solely based on view.

retail gear is terrible

Go back to retail if you want to roll a caster free of mana management worries

You know that we rogues need energy and warriors need rage, right?

it’s infinite.

Good shadowpriests know how to manage their mana. Spriest in classic is tougher than in later expansions but it’s totally doable.

No it’s not, it is nullified during usage.
It is ofc regenerated but until it does you could be dead.
Much like Health in all classes.

Don’t even compare melee classes with casters.
Casters are much more powerful.
Rightfully so, it’s a fantasy game.

Old age and infirmity will likely be the reason I eventually stop playing, I’m almost 70 so, hmm, maybe another 20-30 years?

Why do you think so many people play warrior/rogue? This was also a large reason why I switched to one. But I plan to go back to warlock in burning crusade.

The fact casters use mana and the fact that you have to regen mana was never hidden from you. Also, if you’re a caster and even remotely competent then post-level 10 you’re almost never close enough to a mob to take any damage. Melee, on the other hand, are and they have to regen health instead of mana.

And if a melee dies to a cleave, they’re bad. One of the very simple rules in Classic: Melee DPS stands behind the boss unless the mechanics specifically dictate otherwise.

Me too.

Its really no different. Warriors and rogues are basically white damage with an ability every 5 seconds or so.

Its like the global cooldown got turned up to 5 seconds.

Total snoozefest.

What’s the point of a mana bar if you can just spam spells non stop without worry. At that point, just get rid of it entirely.

WoW Classic is about resource management. It’s about that careful balance between killing speed and mana regen. It’s about balancing Intellect and Spirit to make sure you not only have enough mana to spam spells in an emergency, but also the capacity of regening some without constantly drinking. And different caster classes prioritize those stats differently. So for example, mages don’t have to worry about food and drink since they can create their own, so Intellect is way way more important that Spirit. Priests on other hand have a bunch of talents that enhance Spirit regen, so Spirit is MUCH more useful. Also of note to everyone but mages: Follow the 5 second rule. This means mana will not start Spirit regening until 5s after a spell is cast (or mana is used in general). This means that on most mana classes, you want to frontload your heavy mana spells all in a bunch … and then finish off the target with non-mana weapons like wands or melee weapons.

Now, if this is not something you’re comfortable with and you prefer an MMO with no mana consumption or worry whatsoever, then this is not the game for you. And that’s fine. Just move on to something that will make you happier to play.

It really isnt… the encounters are faceroll and very few have an enrage timer.

You can stand around til your mana replenishes as a caster. Most of the time you will be pressing 1 of 2 buttons anyways.

There’s also pvp you know. And while rogue can kill target after target - i wouldn’t be able even to gank low lvls without having to drink

all specs have downsides
