I rarely, if ever, run into any sort of toxicity in lowbie/timewalking pugs. But that’s all I pug.
But… the mindset of the community is vastly different than, say, Palia. In Palia, people constantly shout out rare spawns, wait for people to show up to stuff, don’t try to race each other to stuff, etc. But the community was built from the foundation of that philosophy: help each other out.
WoW was not. So you don’t get that kind of community. You get people soloing rares without shouting them out so others can benefit. You don’t get people calling out when events start, like the water bound chest. As if they somehow get better rewards if they don’t tell anyone. They don’t help people in chats most of the time. But the community never started out any different. I mean… Barrens Chat. lol
I stick to my friends and guildies, I try to help when people ask in chats, I stop to help in game, to heal, to save their life with my tanky pet, etc. But I never, ever expect the same in return in WoW.
