Thats actually a cool Idea. I would love to see yulon’s soothing just be a lesser soothing you can focus on someone else. Giving us a second button and not breaking our statue heal. No need to macro it, just make it ability on like a 10 second cooldown called Yulon’s Breath make it an instant heal for 3k and another 3k over 5 seconds. Actually this is going in the Ideas, it would solve our no instant heals problem. <3 thank you haha
Check out what I created! its at the bottom called Yulon’s breath.

Well friends, I’ve given in. I’m 7/10 Heroic, compete for top healer in my guild for raid (against shamans, a druid, and a holy priest) and m+ completion. I’ve had a few parses between 95-99% averaging around 85. And I switched to disc priest. MW is the only healer I’ve ever played so my input before wasn’t very well informed but now that I’ve tried the best this expac has to offer it’s even more upsetting. Hopefully they fix this spec soon because right now performing well on a MW doesn’t feel anywhere near as good as performing averagely on a disc. If they fix the class or even add ANY raid utility I’ll switch back. Till next time friends.

Tbh, while I would like that, it wouldn’t fix our biggest problems rn
Also, i found out that rogue/mage will still global you in a cheapshot even if you double pre-fortbrew/dampen harm , sadface :[

Seeing as Monks are all about meditation, why don’t we have something similar to Evocate? Give us something like Zen Meditation thematically, maybe on a 2-3min CD, that lets us channel to restore mana. It wouldn’t be a freebie spell like Innervate because you’d have to sit and -do it-, but I think it could go a long way.
Or, y’know, bring back the old incarnation of Mana Tea where we built and consumed stacks. What was wrong with that, again?

So far fistweaving with the Ancient Teachings legendary is proving to be the most mana efficient build for Mythic+. Yes there are times when I have to stop dps to focus heal which is draining but if you don’t have to do it a lot you rarely have to sit. And with the prideful affix mana is a non issue right now.
While I’m still dedicated to MW I have started leveling a Holy Paladin to test out and see if I like it.

But in raid? Every single mw I’ve seen running Atotm leggo has nice hps sure, but its all mostly wasted overhealing. I don’t think its a good solution unless it gets a smarter rework.
It’s a perfectly valid healing strategy on a team. The MW pushes out heavy blanket coverage so that the other healers can focus target tanks and other raiders.
I am either 1st or 2nd on healing done for most fights, but my total healing there is no comparison. I’d say about 60% of my heals land.
If we make it smarter (which I’d like anyway for m+ viability) there would have to be something done with the throughput potential. Or let us be the new glimmer pally for a raid tier. Letting monks be meta for a bit might do us some good.

Make Disc the ranged DPS and MW the melee DPS healer.
Pretty much there with the legendary, just pull it off the Legend, tweak it a bit and boom…Headshot

Lmao big class tuning today, and I think they forgot MW exists, RIP

I like that idea. Should have been that way to begin with. MW and HPally should be melee damage to heal specs and Disc the ranged version.
I haven’t tried Ancient Teachings in a raid. I used Tear of Morning when I ran normal. So I don’t know how it would work out in the long run.
I definitely think Ancient Teachings should be a smart heal. I do notice times when I have 2 or more people half health or less and the melee heals are hitting someone full health.
What’s really been irritating me is that, while we do struggle a little with mana efficiency, there are people out there who don’t play or know anything about MW parroting the whole “MW sucks don’t bring them to anything” garbage that FoTM content creators spew.
Those of us who know the spec and play it well can make it work in relative content (ie m0-15, N/H raids).

Definitely. My main is disc (6/10H) and when I’m pugging CN on this toon in either heroic or normal I can certainly perform really well. EXCEPT when I’m oom and have no way of gaining mana back. Lately I’ve been seeing a lot more terribad disc priests and resto shammies bc they are fotm for raid heals and it goes to show how the content creater meta discourse really leads a lot of ppl astray.
The biggest thing holding MW back rn is CD power and mana efficiency once those are correctly tuned I could see us being in the top 3 raid heals just for pure throughput.

I agree. When I was doing the Generals it was just me and a Disc Priest and they were terrible. Not only were they usually the first to die but both tanks and many of the other hybrid classes were out healing them.
Even a “poor” performing healer is better than someone rolling FoTM and not knowing what to do or how the class works. It’s why I commit so much to MW. I can play resto druid fairly efficiently and I’m learning Holy Paladin but I’d never do content where people were relying heavily on me when I don’t fully understand my healing spec.

i believe MW healing output is fine, i usually top the bg charts even though i go oom most of the time. But our biggest problem is we offer no real team utility, and everyone can just burst us through our defensives. and our defensives suck!

Using my playstyle from BFA i rock everyone in the raid. Then about 2 minute in im oom. Now, i just sit in melee and cast RJW and essence font. Its pretty lame.

I agree that our mana costs are absolutely terrible. It’s reached the point where the tank I play with, who is also my husband, complains about me needing mana seemingly every 2 minutes.
It’s absolutely ridiculous that they increased our mana costs going into this expansion after removing the mana essences and stuff like blessing of wisdom. I mean, come on. I’ve reached the point of begging the balance druids in my raid for innervate. And don’t even get me started on tyrannical keys, with the amount of damage these dungeons throw out. Thanks, people who thought that healers had too much downtime…I really appreciate it. (sarcasm)
We could really use either reduced mana costs or a baseline way to help manage our mana.

I duo with my brother, he tanks and I heal when we do our mythic+ runs. Depending on the tank your husband plays, as long as he allows you to sit he can keep pulling while you top off. My brother plays BDk/prot pally. It works well for us. Funny enough I have better luck conserving mana during tyrannical boss fights than I do during fortified weeks.
