first of all, little elf, it’s lightforged, not light bound, not light embued, not light infused…L.I.G.H.T.F.O.R.G.E.D
and second of all, we kept those murderous traitors at bay for thousands of years for you, while you were busy fighting petty wars amongst yourselves. it wasnt as if there was an enormous cosmic war being waged in the furthest reaches of the galaxy over the very existence of EVERYTHING that you could have been helping with or anything. so you just better watch it mister. your race has already proven it’s weak will, thats why you have those green eyes. i dont think you’d last very long with a tribe of genocidal maniacs running around. and you know your little font of power? it’d probably go kaboom.
despite this however, i do like the idea, it would give me a new reason to dislike the horde (even though there are already so many)
Lorewise, I think there would be a pretty big continuity error with this since we just got through Legion methodically killing off all the Man’ari we could get our hands on, and they in turn were busily attacking horde and alliance both. They’ve always been in deep with the Legion and I have trouble visualizing them having a ‘turnaround’ moment where they’re willing to work and play with anyone.
What I will suggest instead, is possibly to press for Mogu.
They share a rig, and their lore-ties to the Zandalari create an impetus for them to become invested in the Horde’s interests. They could be given a variety of customization ranging from stone statue to the more flesh-ish forms seen in the Spirit Kings fight in Mogu’shan Vaults.
There is a female model used in the Throne of Thunder raid, for the Twin Consorts fight right before the final boss. Their names are Lu’lin and Suen and they are styled after the moon and sun, respectively. To my knowledge they are the only mogu women depicted ingame, but since Mogu lore is that they became afflicted by the curse of flesh, it follows that there are more.
In Micheal Stackpole’s excellent book Shadows of the Horde, Vol’jin described a vision of Mogu fathers showing their young sons the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, but it was unclear if he saw it or was simply imagining it.
The question remaining of course, is whether or not Blizz would approve of sharing such a distinct rig across faction which is held by a smaller part of the playerbase, as I’m not certain what percentage of the Alliance they are played but last I heard it was below nelves. I did hear this before the release of the Lightforged, to be fair.
Edited to say I wrote the post before I read the thread just cuz I’d been considering this for awhile–I don’t mean to sound discouraging; if red draenai are your jam, then gl <3
