And malefic cores are one of the horrible catchups that aren’t actually a catchup. no one is asking for them for free.
They did a real nice catchup on cloak levels, now they just need fix this.

Yea I am done trying to help bump the 4.2k+ viewed post to help fight for the cause of implementing a new cloak corruption resistance time gate with all these incompetent people replying to a low viewed post instead of making once with over 4.2k views still relevant that already covers all these issues that are being addressed. Another 60 replies here that could of been to the post that matters the most by helping grab Blizzards attention due to the view count. Keep up with your redundancy over and over again. Smh…Peace.

Yes, it is broken. It’s not about getting free malefic cores, it’s about wanting to be able to put in the work and catch up so alts can be viable.

Being 20 or 30 resist behind isn’t that much. I’m sure Blizz will let everyone catch up closer to the pre-patch. Until then suck up the fact that you’re slightly behind people who have been playing their toons all expansion.
its not broken. what keeps your alts from being “viable” now? youre mixing up being viable with pure min/maxing which wouldn’t really make any sense since the content is on farm.
20-30 corruption can mean anther 1-2 pieces which can amount to a lot of DPS depending on your class/spec.
If corruptions weren’t so powerful it wouldn’t be a big deal.
It’s not on farm for everyone, some are still progressing, for the rest, see above.
Managing community expectations and exclusivity is Blizzard’s job, though. Whether or not the content can be finished without a catchup. Perceptions matter quite a bit.
but you dont NEED 92 corruption resistance to run a raid where you barely need rank 8 to get by 2 bosses lol

This is true, and it probably feels bad being behind other dps, and would be worse in PvP. However, games like this reward time played. LoL and Overwatch let everyone be the same. It’s not a question of fairness… it’s just the way it is.
When I run TD R5 it usually does around 14% of my damage in a dungeon. I could still be useful with R4. Not optimal, but good enough for a late comer alt.
I would lose 20k DPS if I purified all my gear which is ~25% DPS loss so you can imagine how well it’d go for someone with my exact same gear sans the corruption if they tried to 1v1 me in a remotely fair fight.
CR isn’t needing the specific resistance, it’s that there is an insane power boost from have all the CR so in PvE you can’t compete with them and in PvP you’re just going to get dumped on. This is all well and fine (to an extent), but the catch up design is heavily throttled since you are limited to two cores a week. The silly part is HV farming is already throttled by how many vessels you can get in a week, which is at best 4 or maybe 5 if you try really hard which means a fresh player coming back and getting 5 runs done a week would still probably need about a month to get to 125 if they weren’t limited to 2 cores a week.
You don’t need it to kill the boss, BUT that’s not the point.
You are judged based on performance with your peers, if you are needed to switch for your raid group right now, they might as well just recruit someone for that spot and drop you.

Why should Blizzard care? They see it as “Well you should have been playing since launch and working on all those alts since then as well”.
Except for all the other catchup in the game currently, and the catchup the game has had for MANY years.
Blizzard will care, when subs drop further from being so out of touch with the community.
It was always said that WOW will be the WOW killer, and it looks more and more of a reality every year.

if youre on a tight mythic schedule, sure. like you said its plenty of raids progressing through heroic right now. plenty taking people who dont have north of 53 corruption resistance.
