You realise this is a fallacy? You “saw the writing on the wall” so you rolled on a different server. This means that you contributed to the low population on the OCE server. Sure its easy to predict that not many people will go to the party if I have already decided me and my friends arent going to the party. Just because you are part of the problem doesnt mean you get credit for “predicting” the problem. You want to go after people “whining” when you were so vulnerable to group think and dev sentiment that you rolled on a server from a different continent.
What’s done is done, we can point fingers and blame people or say “i told you so”. It is what it is. It’s now up to Blizzard to see how little people raid this week and see the even further dwindling realm population and hopefully reverse their stance on realm transfers. As the realm is right now, I fail to see how we would even open the AQ gates and there’ll be a bigger player dropoff before then.
If you’re a lower level, you wont have issues finding dungeon groups but realm health is not determined in the stockades/SM range where most people quit. Keep in mind, this also includes a portion of the already level 60 population levelling their alts so it isn’t all unique players to the realm.
Now that a lot of players have finished their pre-bis grind it’s now even harder to just play the game outside of raiding so as more people fail to fill their dungeon groups you’re going to see them opt to play other games and “try again later.” This is something I’ve seen happen and I’m seeing less and less of people that I regularly play with log on as they’re already over it.
Sure did, really happy with my decision to roll PvE. There was no PvE OCE choice.
Again… not down to be on forced PvP. Don’t know how hard that is to understand?
Not just me count the 6-7 guilds on Dreamscythe Alliance now and the 3-4 on the Horde side.
“Whining” ? I never said anything like that, I said the whinging was unreal, which it was. Entitled Australians crying on Twitter about muh ping, it was unnecessary.
This is what I actually said.
Also keep in mind if you’re on Maladath you are stuck on PvP which means if they merge you to Nightslayer enjoy even more ping than you would get on Dreamscythe as Nightslayer is East Coast and Dreamscythe is West Coast.
ive tried leveling on US server but i don’t think i can do it again… big oof. The problem is if blizzard do let people xfer most will leave which in effect makes the server more dead - the logical option would be to just merge maladath back into US pvp nightslayer
Naming it after the Wrath fresh pve server that died when ulduar dropped was kind of a hint this would happen.
Everything is subject to change, even if they say it isn’t. PVP → PVE has always been an option even for retail going back to when transfers first became available. And if they stick to their no transfer stance, us that rolled on Maladath are stuck here anyway.
Either way, people I’ve spoken to at length really don’t care if it’s a PVE or PVP option at this point, we just want to be on a healthy server and both servers are fine. Extra MS for Nightslayer kinda means nothing for PVE and BGs will be higher MS regardless of if you’re on OCE or not.
This is likely what will happen to the server if it can’t survive.
Not sure why you guys still have 3 layers don’t think it’s needed on Maladath, maybe Blizzard could remove them and see how it goes?
Fingers crossed.
Layers are not the issue, but they are an issue. There’s no reason for 3 layers on a pretty dead server lol.
The bigger issue is lack of raid teams on Alliance and I imagine on Horde. Pre-bis farm groups are pretty dire right now aswell.
Also no idea why you have such an issue with people that wanted lower ping, but you need to get out and touch some grass rather than be toxic on forums 24/7.
Like I said I hope Blizzard remove them for the health of the server.
Removing layers isn’t going to magically fix our low population problem.
No it isn’t but what else can be done right now? I think it’s the only step Blizzard could take to try and make it not feel so dead. Until a merge happens (if/when?) that’s the only thing they can do.
It’s not a solution that does anything, being completely honest. Our issues aren’t with seeing less people in the world, it’s the fact that there’s really no-one in the world.
Asking for solutions that don’t really fix the issue just potentially delay any real fix and we’re in a worse state because of it for longer. And I know you would prefer us to stay on Maladath and have all of us quit and unsub, but for a business that is stupid.
Not at all, I didn’t want this to happen to the server but I could see it happening before it began. I’m hoping next time Blizzard will take note.
I didn’t think OCE needed a server either. we have has so many failures over the classic lifecycle that I don’t know why they even tried.
SoM which wasn’t a hit anywhere and legitimately died in NA as well, and SoD which was very popular up until the design mistakes in P3. I’d hardly call those failures.
I guess an argument can be made for Arugal current day but from my understanding it did fine up until WOTLK and that was another example of dropoff globally, not just OCE.
