This was clearly done on purpose for the 1%/streamers/content creators so they can get right to raiding.

I did incursion quests non-stop from launch until they nerfed it and I did not make 1000 gold

I agree with this. Asmond played this launch, he literally came back to WoW for this. Also a very prominent Warcraft 3 streamer I follow played the Incursions all day and I literally have never in my life seen him stream WoW, he usually just does WC3 and I’ve been following him for at least 4 years.

What did they do to the gold? It was still 5g per when i logged off.
It was absolutely broken. It was insane with the 300% buff and then it was even higher at level 50. It was just too much

I got up to 450g doing it pretty much non stop until they nerfed it but I am not believing anyone made 1000.
People with multiple accounts made off pretty well.
I did it from launch and made around 850. People were dual boxing multiple accounts making insane amounts just by doing kill/escort on repeat. It was easily more than 1k for some people.
Not saying it was a bad move…it got people out of the dungeon spam and into the world. This is what they wanted. Prolly just a little overtuned at the start though.

Big backfire, last boss is still not downed, and deemed impossible for alliance lol. We got mythic retail tuning with bosses that got more hp than kel’thuzad.

some back of the napkin math tells me that …
1000g at 5g a quest means 200 quests
lets say you got a full loadout of all 18 quests every time (though unlikely) it would take you 11 runs to get 1000g at 30 min a run on a fast server you are looking at 5 and a half hours minimum. though more then likely a lot longer on highly contested servers.
So while theoretically possible to get 1K gold, it is highly unlikely given the time they nerfed the gold rate.
is this why the AH is now closed?
