Warcraftlogs did a competition like that last expansion. You entered a team full of the least played specs to see how well you could do. I got a toy from it.

I don’t run M+ but here is my nightmare group


Vengeance DH (who zips around like an 8 year old on red bull)
Resto Shaman (who doesn’t know what totems are)

and three BM hunters spec’d into barrage who do not have any sense of spatial awareness.

Arcane mage is giga now, it just happens to be overshadowed by Frost and Fire.

It’s easily one of the top dps specs available to play.

Had a 445ish surv hunter pushing 150k in freehold the other day with no Aug in the group. Surv is nasty in experienced hands.

Prot and Bree are both more than fine through 20s. At 430 Ilvl my brew is clearing 16s with no deaths. Heck I timed a 16 neltharus and my healer was dead for like 40% of the fight. Vivify on my competent dps ftw. I was also detoxing and healing the afflicted adds lol.

No defending sin rogue, it’s trash.

Give me a tank and an aug evoker and we’re in business. Immortal tank that would parse the heavens.

This is a bad metric.

You can clear 20s with a tank and a healer.
Nobody cares what can clear a 20.

tank: undergeared, doesn’t know the dungeon
healer: mouse clicks the player, then mouse clicks the ability in his spell book
DPS1: thinks the tank sucks and pulls more packs
DPS2: boosted toon to 60, got carried to 70, keyboard turns
DPS3: afk at the beginning of the dungeon

Yet 20s are where all rewards exist except 1 (the 0.1% title they tried to copy from PvP except in PvP there is rating inflation and you can lose rating, making the system sorta work).
