Catch up gear to get you into the new content.
That is the entire point though. Catch up mechanics/gear for the new patch/content. It’s enough to get you into it, but not enough to have your overgear and ignore the content.
This isn’t anything new. Usually happens most major patches.
Because they don’t offer player power progression

How about you do said content on your alt if you want the gear upgrade. Takes less than a couple hours for your welfare epics.
If we make enough noise, they might be inclined to consider it.

Use catch up gear to get geared for the Forbidden Reach, go to said zone on caught up character, get upgrade items to upgrade. Yay!
The level of entitled convenience is unreal lol I’m curious how many people would opt in for having an AI play their character and they just sit back and watch like it’s a stream

I also couldn’t do the reach on my alt at the time i got the tomes because the toon was around 62 sor 63 when the reach came out.
So i did it on my main toon, opened the vaults, etc… then went to an alt.
The only ones sounding entitled are you and anyone else calling those asking for this entitled. You have good gear, and yo useem to think that entitled you to tell others how to play or call them out.
This level of elite entitlement sickens me soe much, I’d love to see the gear those against it get the:
treatment. That would enable everyone to see what kind of players these people are and know who to treat badly because they treat others badly.
I think it did occur to the OP they currently weren’t meant for alts. That’s the whole reason they are asking for a change.

It did. 
They offer an intro to a quest, that, as a fresh 70 with like 250ilvl, would be interesting to complete.
The quest for the ring is designed around ilvl 385 which, fancy enough, is the ilvl of the catch up gear.
Are you or are you not discussing the catch up gear? The gear and the upgrade items are two different things.
I’m not telling anyone how to play. Explaining how and why the system is set up the way it is as per Blizzard is simply that.
Asking Blizzard to change something simply because you want it rather than accepting jt for the way it was designed on the other hand…
No, they are not different things it is a whole catch up system and not a progression system.
Now you have 3 things
Catch up gear
Upgrade tokens
Catch up system
The first two are independent of each other, but encompassed in a whole by the third.
If they weren’t different things, then how come some things are BoA and some are not?
Bad decisions by Blizzard. Same reason not having a vendor is a bad decision.

Why make alts if no one is actually wanting to play the alts?? It’s like cooking a meal and then throwing it away
