Clarifications about Vicious Saddles in Battle for Azeroth
Blizzard went to the forums to clarify what happened with Vicious Saddles in Battle for Azeroth, as players are currently unable to obtain them.
Who’s Baal, other than an Egyptian god?
A guy in this thread.
Truth is, I dont care what ‘Baal’ said or even whether the thing about Twitter is true, or what it even means. I have opinions on things (as obviously you do) and unless or until those opinions change on their own merits Ill stick by them.
So my part in this discussion is over. It is encapsulated in this - keep some things in the game unique and special to those who earned them at the time…but give players the ability to earn items with a similar appearance in their own challenging event. So if someone wants the fancy druid bear appearance from MT, then give them a challenge that offers a similar fancy druid bear appearance.
Is there anything seriously wrong with that idea?
But I shall now depart, in search of capuccino.
Yes, the original appearance is still gone, and having it around would benefit players more than not. Now bye! Although I admit, bringing up tweets isn’t a great debate strategy.
I’m in the “let the achievements be the prestige” camp, and keep the cosmetics themselves available. Keep in mind we already have vendors for old “seasonal” or “limited-time” PvP gear appearances (not all, but most) and (some) mounts.
Speaking of which, here’s an example from last year where PvP season rewards would “no longer be earnable”.
" Additionally, it will still be possible to queue for Rated PvP based on your Season 3 rating, but titles and associated rewards will no longer be earnable. The end-of-season rankings will close when Visions of N’Zoth goes live."
Guess what we can buy with a Vicious Saddle now? This is just yet another example of bringing things back. It can and does happen.
You have no idea what you are talking about. Vicious mounts are never removed forever, every single one that has ever been added was added to a vendor. That is not what they mean when they say the rewards that are removed. They mean the elite sets, gladiator mount, r1 title, tabard and enchant if it is the end of the expansion. None of those things have ever returned, even on the BMAH.
Stick to trying to argue about PvE rewards because you have no idea how PvP rewards work.
This is just completely false. No elite sets or gladiator mounts are on a vendor anywhere. The only available elite ensembles are from Legion and only if you have the seasonal elite achievement that went with it. Nobody can earn any elite or seasonal PvP rewards after the season, that hasn’t ever changed.
I wonder if that example is a good one. I was under the impression that Vicious Saddle Mounts have always been presumed to come back at a later date, and they never said the mounts would be completely gone. Can you explain that? Am I wrong?
Edit: Explanation was given.
The seasonal “vicious” mounts are tied to rating - you have to win within a certain rating bracket to count progress towards them.
People can presume all they want, but Blizzard straight-up says that they would no longer be earnable in the example I provided. Fast-forward a year and now you can in fact earn them by grinding out Vicious Saddles. I’m just showing how certain language used does not mean “never coming back”.
No, saddles for 99% of the time they existed were tied to winning any 3v3 or RBG match. The original vicious mounts were from winning a set amount of RBGs. It was only in BFA that they set earning vicious mounts and saddles at 1400 and they never, ever were talking about vicious mounts when they said that rewards are removed forever. The plan was always to put them on the vendor with the other vicious mounts for saddles, they said as much in blue posts.
You don’t have any experience or knowledge on how PvP rewards work, so just don’t even try, it’s embarrassing for you.
It’s as if I linked a post from BFA! Whoda thought?
You don’t have any experience or knowledge on how PvP rewards work, so just don’t even try, it’s embarrassing for you.
Dang, I guess the vicious mounts I have were just given to me for free!
The plan was never to limit them to one season, if you could read. Here is a link on WoWhead about them discussing it:
Blizzard went to the forums to clarify what happened with Vicious Saddles in Battle for Azeroth, as players are currently unable to obtain them.
They pretty clearly say that the BFA vicious mounts will follow the normal saddle rules and be on the vendor in SL. There is nothing anywhere that says vicious mounts specifically are removed forever, because they never have been. They have always been referring to real seasonal rewards when they talk about removing rewards at the end of the season. You are either trolling or outright clueless if you can’t acknowledge that.
I’m just showing how certain language used does not mean “never coming back”.
Ignoring either or both the historical and proximate context of words and phrases is not a good debate tactic.
Nah, you’re just ignoring the language they used to fit your narrative. It’s cool though, you do you
Gotcha, troll then. Should have figured considering the topic.
Ah, but it’s ok for people to ignore the reintroduction of older items, such as the Core Hound mount?
This isn’t a one-way street.
Lol, you sir are desperate for forum likes. Every one of your threads is sensationalist outragy trollbait… are you a news reporter by trade?
Ah, but it’s ok for people to ignore the reintroduction of older items, such as the Core Hound mount?
You’re, again, ignoring the context, form, and history of the acquisition and reintroduction of anniversary mounts, as well as the fact that many other time-limited/exclusive items have not been reintroduced.
No, I’m not ignoring anything. Here, let me make it even clearer:
“No longer earnable”, “no longer obtainable”, etc. does NOT mean “never coming back”. Blizzard uses this language and reintroduces items after using this language. People absolutely need to stop conflating “no longer earnable”/“no longer obtainable” with “never coming back” - the definitions don’t even match and Blizzard has shown that they can and will use this language and later bring items back (even going as far as leaving contradictory support articles on their help site regarding availability of certain items, such as the Obsidian Worldbreaker).
Anyone who says that Blizzard stated the items are never coming back are straight-up lying or trolling, if not completely ignorant. That is Blizzard’s choice alone, and we will continue providing feedback.
No old stuff new only. You can just out gear it now when back then you had to use what you had. Even with some horrible form of scaling it isnt the same now.
Oh, you’ve tested the new version and can confirm this?
