I could probably find more examples too if you want this to turn into a show, but I just want to see results in the end.
This is wholly inaccurate. It works in theory but never in practice because people tend to use the same appearances. 7.3 it was impossible to find a rogue that wasn’t using the pvp set because it was cool. All the tier sets in the game and most rogues still opt to use either Bloodfang, t3 if available to them, or Mythic HFC or Antorus Mythic sets.
XIV has the same issue where easily 80% of glamour outfits people have can be summarized in one single piece. 2b pant(ie)s.
If you gave every character in this game access to all of their class available transmog options, literally ALL of them, you’d still see that class largely dominated by a single appearance. Clothies would still do the black mageweave leggings and mageweave shirt combo, or just one of these pieces. Rogues would all be using the sets I mentioned above. Druids would all be using Mage Tower appearance forms, human paladins and warriors would invariably use the epic pvp set items from Vanilla. Paladins might do what they do now where easily 40% of them are wearing Judgment set, and 80% of that number are humans. If they’re LFD or Belf they tend to go with a battle bikini, usually Glorious (especially LFD female paladins).
Every person desperately needy for attention uses the crowns from Opulence. Every person that wants to sound smart but is just a passive aggressive twit uses the glasses.
It looks like those in charge disagreed with your assertion. Sorry.
Sure stop fomo content but don’t bring back what was fomo content to entitled snowflakes. People like so much customizations to have their char stand out in a different way. People who aquired those unobtainables value them the same way, something they can use to not look like everyone else. If you did not get them then that is your problem, no matter if you played legion or not.
You want the original mage tower skins, I highly suggest checking out Classic Legion when it pops up.
If you wanted recolors of the original ones, I could get behind that request.
The Ordos cloak.
It wasn’t really that challenging when most people got them, TBH.
Then everyone should have gotten them who was around for it…
Anyone who wasn’t around for it, sorry, you missed out. It happens. Sounds like they at least get the opportunity to try out the Mage Towers again with Timewalking. If that is the case. Enjoy the new rewards. Be happy they are even doing this.
But… but Void Elf paladins! /s
Adding different difficulties to Mage Tower would make it a monster system that will make it more complex. So no Thank you.
Also consider that people will only have 2 weeks to get the rewards in the first event then they will have to wait like 3 months for the event to be up again to give them a new try.
It wasn’t challenging at all towards the end of legion. People were rolling up alts and getting the challenge mode appearances within a few days of character creation. I know people that unlocked all of them for all classes and specs with all brand new characters.
Nah. I’m not really ever going to champion them creating FOMO content. The limited time stuff exists to drive activity for them, not anything for us.
I’m not backing down from this. It’s stupid to remove content and cosmetics from the game just to make people feel like they have to play at a specific time. They can throw you a special snowflake achievement or something for falling for this nonsense. Maybe even let you keep the original skin color. Whatever. I wouldn’t have a problem with this.
But I will firmly stand against FOMO content.
You could just wait for Legion Classic coming soon 2028!
Limited time event items coming back on the BMWH is not the same as prestige/challenge items coming back, which has never happened. There is no precedent for items that required high skill during a specific time to obtain coming back later. Amani War Bear, pvp elite sets, pvp glad mounts, MoP cloak/challenge mode tmog, WoD challenge mode tmog, etc are all gone and have never come back.
lol I literally used these same examples, but, there is no logic to be found here
By the time legion classic happens, I’d like to imagine Blizzard would be offering a service to transfer characters from classic to regular realms.
Speaking of that, I’m really curious what they’re going to do with classic when it ends. Does it just stay in its bubble? It’s like suramar.
Comment of the century. Thank you for the LOL
Although, I do think it should come back - I would like original colors to be kept for ppl who got the appearances during legion.
Honestly I don’t think a heroic mode is needed, in all likelihood the mage tower if scaled to an ilvl will be significantly more difficult then doing it in legion where many challenges had “one shot mechancis” that were simply outgeared by stam. Just having a set ilvl will probably be enough to “earn” it in my mind.
I have all 36 but do not care if they bring them back and allow players to earn them again. Keyword, “earn.” Just wanted that out of the way before my next point. I also don’t like the idea of deliberately tuning the tower to be harder than it originally was in order to earn the original weapon skins. I don’t speak for everyone but IMO that also cheapens the original accomplishment. That means the skins no longer represent the hardest version of the encounter (mechanically). To me this is part of the problem with bringing them back. There will always be arguments over which version was harder and players will belittle each other over it. But that already exists today with the fact better gear made them easier so it’s not enough to just rule it out from my POV. Plenty feel differently as these threads have shown and there is just no way to appease everyone.
looks at my recolored Mop Challenge mode sets
looks at my recolored war bear
looks at my recolored AQ mount
Well, they could add recolored artifact appearances with the models people want? They do that often.
