Sorry if this thread comes off as a complaint, but Could we please make it so that anyone who subs/remains subbed during the Anniversary both get the boost? that way, people who supported the game through and through will get rewarded for their patronage and staying to support the game, and it will also reward returning players.
I mean we supported the game, I didn’t even play much post 8.1.5 but I remained subbed because I wanted to support the game, don’t people like us people who subbed deserve a reward or anything for continuously supporting the game instead of leaving when we could have?
I agree. I mean I’m not up in arms about it but knowing new and returning players get a free bonus just rubs me the wrong way. It’s like rewarding people for not playing the game.
Exactly, I understand new players sure, but why them and returning players only? it feels a bit like you were cheated off of 60$ for remaining/paying for the game.
I agree, it should have be given to all current subscribers by default as a reward and a thank you for being here 15 years later.
I doubt this will entice many players to return for more than just a month to earn a $60 token for $15 bucks. The people that have been subscribed are worth more to Blizzard than the bit of scratch from quickly bringing some back (who will likely be gone again just as fast)
The kerfuffle with the boost issue is a pain for sure but I just want my AV Frostwolf and that sweet Deathwing drake reskin! I don’t know if I want another 100 to level up again
Case of “I thought I did but I really don’t”
Sad thing is, I’ve purchased more than a few level boosts and Sub tokens over the years… if I had a Subway punch card for those purchases… I would surely have earned a free sub by now.
If they did any more promotions for repeat purchases for the store, I might use it more, though i’m not sure if anyone else would approve.
still though, as I said before, considering the people who are eligible for this boost, just left early through bfa that just means that they could just get the boost then unsub again, until the next expansion.
perhaps, though still considering this is a subscription based game, I think it’s unfair that people who left get rewarded over people who stayed… plus the fact that the level boost is 60$ quite pricey, if the boost was on-par with mount prices (25$) I would not mind
I mean what’s stopping them from grabbing a 15$ boost, then leaving? considering they didn’t like the content at the start of the expac
Oh I absolutely agree 100% with you in that regard! I’ve spent $120 on two 110 boosts, myself, not to mention the umpteen thousands I’ve spent over the years on my previous account. I guess I’m just trying to make myself feel better about not getting one
Wait, did this really happen? I literally resubscribed three days ago. Ahh, I picked the wrong time to resubscribe I guess. I feel for you guys, ya’ll should be rewarded for actually playing the game, it’s weird to give a 60$ boost to someone who might not even continue playing in the next month.
I agree. This feels pretty bad as a “loyal” customer. WoW has become the game that rewards you for NOT playing it. Skipped farming AP in Legion? You get an automatically fully powered weapon at the end. Skipped the intro tier in BFA? World quest gear will drop more powerful than what Mythic raiders had a few months ago. Stopped playing altogether? Here is a free character boost valued at $60 just for NOT playing! My RL friends have all jumped to FFXIV I’m the only one hanging on with WoW by a thread, but even though this isn’t a huge deal it may just be the final straw to leave altogether.
“just sounds like entitlement”? seriously?!?!? why should the people who pay 15 bucks a month on the lowest subscription plan get punished for supporting this broken mess of a game that can and will randomly remove your exe file making you reinstall 70gb, like it just did to me for a third time since 8.2 patch came out
I’ll quote what I said in another thread because the desire for rewards for “supporting the game” continues to baffle me. I guess it’s because I see the game as a product that I like to support due to its quality and not as something I’m obligated to faithfully support for better or worse as if it’s my wife or something.
It’s entitlement specifically because you used the term “punished.” People who paid to play the game aren’t in any way punished. They paid for game time, they got time. This wasn’t supposed to be a job you worked 9-5 for years of your life. This was supposed to be a fun time. If you weren’t having fun, you probably shouldn’t have been supporting the game.
