I offered you a genuine option. Go try Guild Wars 2. It’s FTP after you purchase the current expansion. It’s a great game to play and I recommend it. But after playing for 10 years I was looking for something new and I switched.
However, to highlight the difference between a sub based game and FTP…
GW2 you get 5 char slots. Each additional char slot costs $9.99
WOW gives you 50 char slots… free.
The cost to get 50 char slots in GW2 = $449.55

its been 15 dollars a month since 2004 if anything the fact it hasn’t gone up is quite surprising.

World of Warcraft is optional entertainment, you don’t have to pay $15 for anything. Entertainment is optional, if you have to choose between Netflix and World of Warcraft, then that’s a you issue, get a second job, stop being lazy.
I think they should even charge more than $15 a month, due to inflation they should be charging around $25 to $30, which I would gladly pay.
It doesn’t take 50 hours to farm enough gold to buy a token, stop being lazy or quit playing, these are all you issues, nothing else.

I think a lot of you are older and retired you need netflix now if you want to try to invite a girl or guy to your house and you dont have netflix things ain’t going to work and you have to pay for the dating apps to meet people all I’m saying is everything is expensive and a lot cant afford this game right now and blizzard should just make it 7 dollars and add more stuff to the shop I know many more would play if it was 7 dollars or less.
Or you could not pay for netflix
If I stop paying for netflix to pay for wow me and others dating life will suffer no1 should have to sacrifice this to pay for a game made in 2004
Then don’t play the game if you dont think its worth it.

Now you’re being insulting and stubborn just because no one is agreeing with you. You think you’re the only one on this thread having financial troubles? That’s pretty arrogant.
Want FTP - go get GW2 like I’ve said twice already and you’ve ignored… Determined to just choose WOW, then drop Netflix and that should compensate the cost difference for you.

It’s worth it for rich people but a lot us arent rich are you people trying to not understand on purpose?
15 dollars a month isn’t rich. if your unwilling to pay that much just leave the price has stayed the same for 16 years now in America not even going up with inflation.

Honestly I do question if it’s worth the sub cost when my game almost lags out when killing a world boss with too many people around or a big battle happening
Considering I don’t face those issues in GW2 and I didn’t face those issues in new worlds 50v50 it does raise some questions about the potato servers their using whilst charging me a sub

The factory I work at has hired four people over the last month and none of them have lasted more than two days before going no-call no-show and the work is stupidly easy. I’m convinced people just don’t want to work.

WoW hasn’t changed its price over 16 years of inflation. If anything, it should go up.
Well they can go for the 6 month plan and save some money if it is that big of an issue.
Same here, I have hired people at 20 bucks an hour to simply load cereal boxes into a feeder so the cereal bags can be put inside… once you get the hopper loaded you can sit there for 10 minuets doing nothing but surfing on your phone… like you said about 2 days average then no call no show… for easy job that pays good with bennies, all because its a rotating shift.
If you honestly can’t afford $15 on entertainment which can last over a hundred hours a month.
Then you have way more problems then needing to play a game for amusement. It’s quite literally not eating out one more day of the month on average.
When this games go lower or F2P is when the game dies.
This is absurd. I’ve lived in shacks, kid. I’ve been homeless. I have no doubt in my mind that other folks here have been in worse places, too. As some nice people here have already said, either cut Netflix, or find a solid Free to Play game. You can play Age of Conan online for free. It’s not WoW, but it’s swords and sorcery, and they have a freemium model that’s pretty decent.
Being upset you can’t have all the entertainment you want is unreasonable. I’m a filthy, filthy socialist, but I also understand we live in a capitalist system where people have to work hard to make ends meet. There has to be some give somewhere, and in this case, the weight falls on the subscription fee. It’s $15 a month. $13 a month if you pay 6 mos at a time. In 16 years, the price hasn’t changed (at least in the US).
Did you know that when I restarted my sub, I was given everything except Shadowlands to play? Yep, just paid my $15, and downloaded the entire game’s content. Seems like a really good deal to me. $15 a month for full access to 16 years worth of gaming content, PLUS I can play WoW classic (which I am! Oh, the memories, the walking!).
Food? Shelter? Medicine? Absolutely important essentials I believe everyone should have. Games? Yeah, we need diversion, time to relax, but you’re demanding a game built on a pricing model that hasn’t changed in 16 years cut that rate in half while still shouldering the burdens of what it costs to run said game with massive playerbase, and you know who gets hurt first when they inevitably cut positions to increase profit? The workers.
Now that’s not fair to them, is it?

In all honesty this game shouldn’t even have a subscription
A lot of low end jobs are very, very unsafe right now, especially in the US within low income spheres. If you HAVE to work, that’s great, employment is there, but lets not pretend there’s not a pandemic going on, and that some of us have pre-existing conditions or live with the vulnerable. The US just hasn’t been taking appropriate steps to contain the virus, and for a lot of us, opting out of that risk, at the cost of short term financial health is worth it. I WISH I could be working right now, but I’m not going to risk a heart attack and my grandparents’ lives just to line my pocket.
This all said, WoW is very cheap entertainment. I don’t think anybody at the point where their WoW sub is the financial tipping point should be playing the game.
