Make gear more boring

And that’s why I’m fine with what they’re talking about doing in DF, which is that Raiders, M+ers, and PvPers all have access to the same currency to craft the same BIS cantrip (read: Gavel-tier) weapons.

Forreal? Wdym exactly? We’ll be able to get something like Dinar from M+?

Is there an article

So M+ and PvP will have dinar as well? Sounds like a mess for PvP the moment ppl starts screaming for nerfs.

Lol, I had to re-read that. I assume you meant Beast Mastery, not bowel movement.

Bring back hit rating first  But yeah, I use the plain jane exile island mog for my retail toons. because it doesn’t sparkle, and don’t want to look like a mighty morphin power ranger/paladin lol.

Yeah the special effect items have gotten out of hand, like the ryegalon dagger was frustrating given I couldn’t use it a a holy paladin, and vers is literally one of my BiS stats in M+.

Vers is my lowest stat prio and yet that dagger is my BiS because how good it is.

But I have no desire to raid this xpac so I’m SOL. :upside_down_face:

I quite like trinkets like Adrenaline Injector, Stun Grenade, Meathook from this season’s pool for example. They feel pretty powerful but you just macro them into your 2 min CDs and bam, tons of stats and tons of damage.

You couldn’t pay me to use something like Scars :no_good_woman:

True, these are fine by me. I like the ones that don’t take a global and align with your cds. I wish you could adjust the cd of your active trinkets with proportional power (in pve).

Things like Mistcaller Ocarina, where you have to cast a trinket every 15 minutes, this I simply cannot stand.

And every single MoP secondary stat with it

Not gonna happen cuz multi-dollar company has not the resources but:

Get rid of stats off of rings/neck/trinket and weapon(minus attack stat for melee) and make each of these have specifically tailored effects. Some could even buff class/racial effects. Imagine getting the Fleshcraft effect by using Cannibalize or being able to supercharge your Gift of the Naaru.

The other slots can pick up the slack on stam and primary stat.

I wish there were more latitude to pick gear because we think the effects it has are cool instead of having to select every slot based on what sims well because of sizable performance differences. In that world fun quirky items wouldn’t be a problem.

I don’t have much hope this could ever happen unfortunately.

I’d rather they make it boring in that secondaries were removed and followed a template, while keeping trinkets and some effects on weapons and maybe necklaces/rings.

But nothing feels worse than getting a huge upgrade that sims worse because they’re your worse stats.

What? But how else are we gonna end up with 304 Mistaller Ocarina’s in our vaults then.

I miss when trinket slots weren’t just for stat or performance increases, but for interesting and unique effects (carrot on a stick, something stopwatch, etc.) Those were a lot of fun.

My [Barov Peasant Caller] got a lot more usage than I’d like to admit.

That one was SO fun!

Oops, i replied wrong. This was a reply to the barov peasant caller

Hard pass on that. Ff14 has gear like that and it’s a huge part of the reason I quit playing a month into each expansion. The last thing I would want is for the driving motivation of this game, the excitement of new and interesting gear, to go away. Please go play ff14 instead. Gearing is already boring there. Don’t bring it here.

I disagree. The nuance of gear now is just ao much more fun and appealing

This is the only part I agree with. I like unique effects, but in no case should my LFR trinket be better than anything I’m pulling out of Heroic.

It works for FFXIV, though, because it has more going for it than the loot treadmill. The treadmill is all WoW has, so it needs a bit more zazz.
