Then if you fail the capcha then you get locked out from clicking any node on any character for 24 hours, doubling every time in the future that you fail the capcha.
edit: also the timer only counts down if you’re actively logged into a character.
Revamp Garrison gardens. You talk to the NPC who allows you to choose what you want to sow and pick. You get one harvest daily from whatever expansion you want herbs from. No one can bot your outpost. The seeds you get from your harvest can be planted in soils around the new Azeroth zones but no one can camp them or cull them. You and only you get the plants that grow outta them.
Edit: Addendum to that. Seeds can only be planted by other herbalists in the soils. So you sell your daily seeds on AH; use the Garden Orders for additional plants, or mail them to your herbalists to grow/cultivate later.

Yep, captchas are so counterproductive it’s ridiculous. Most humans have some amount of trouble with them. Bots are MUCH better at solving them than humans are. It’s security theater.

I was watching a video showing that computers were solving captchas something like 99% accuracy and people were only about 65%.

one “maybe” simple idea is instead of just banning the account when it’s found to be botting / hacking. Ban the IP address. I know there are ways around that as well but idk…

I don’t want to be tortured because Blizz can’t get a handle on bots. They’d figure out a way around it anyway, like they did with DR and CAPTCHA.

Bots are ultimately caused by players. Why do they exist? To make gold. That is their primary use. And what do the professional botters do with that gold? They sell it,to…
Players.
If no one bought gold from gold selling sites, then the farmers would go out of business. So if people want to blame any one, blame the people who support the business.
