I’ve lived in Arizona and Alaska for many years. You never get used to the extreme weather there in the summer/winter.

It’s all about us “paying”, not so much “playing”. With all the smaller games and studios out there doing a much better and comprehensive job keeping their games and servers up, it makes no sense for Acti-Blizz to be so far behind the power curve. After 19 years of working with this code, the level of incompetence is down right DNC worthy. But it makes a lot of “cents” for them to give us just enough to keep us hanging on and not un-subbing. We have the power to drive the change, but the addiction seems too strong for the money to go where the collective mouths are. A gaming company that no longer listens to the players, doesn’t love the game, and is focused on the bottom line over a quality product is destined to fail. #imjustsayingwhateveryoneisthinking

Right! I think the worse I encountered was Apple Valley Ca in winter.Yikes to that high desert cold waves.
But yeah being in Oregon I can imagine the feel of the cold up there.

I just got done making a huge batch of breakfast burrito filling with chorizo, poblano peppers, roasted potatoes and onions for my friends at a music fest this weekend. Was hoping to get back on to WoW when I was done.

Sounds great… hope they turned out well. I’m gonna do a bit of coding for a personal project, put away the clean cookware, and bask in the small of warm coco bread until the servers go green. I’m anticipating dinner-ish EST.

Kinda cold to do that here. Plus they may not find me till spring when the snow melts. LOL I got hobbies so I’ve been amused for several hours now. YouTube videos, yarn, cats, and the ever important laundry. Don’t want to be stinky when I dare to leave my house. Hissssss The sun…It burns usssssssss.

Who needs multiple environments like DEV, QA, STG, etc… when you can DO IT LIVE.

I mean… less hoops to jump through, less time spent on QA, just throw it out into the wild and let the masses QA far better than any 1 dev could QA. Ironically, it does actually make sense on paper from a purely technical perspective… except in practice, most people don’t want to pay devs to do their job for them. So there’s that. But that’s kinda why PTR is supposed to be a thing… a hybrid between both.

I’m sure they have multiple development environments leading up to prod, etc. - however, how so much has either (1) Missed QA or (2) been poorly designed (and/or scoped) I’m honestly curious where the breakdown has been. Because it’s much more consistent nowadays.
