Is that what actually happens? If so it explains the reason for the long maintenance: They let go of all the QA and are trying to fix bugs during “maintenance” after dropping the patch on live servers.

I’m glad you know so much about me and the fact I work 55 hours a week and have MAYBE 90 minutes to play during the weekdays and 1 day on Sunday to play as much as I want, but yea you go ahead and make assumptions of my life to make your yourself feel better about being a keyboard warrior. Yea and I won’t even go into the fact I’ve played mmorpgs since 1999 when EQ came out. But you go ahead and make yourself look like the white knight trying to call someone out who’s probably been playing these games longer than you’ve been alive.

Maintenance… extended again at the last minute, blizzard royally screws this up every week.

The alternative is that they adopt some form of change control standards to that the issues don’t happen every time they do a change.
Like, you can all bash all you want with “oh but its an old game” “oh touch grass” but the reality is that if any of us in the real world made 52 maintenance windows a year and missed timeline on 50% of them, there’d be consequences for that.
I have launched and relaunched browser at it still says 11am on mine.
I mean, they could just necro the same maintenance thread every week instead of starting new ones. It is still applicable.

Sadly the person who necroed this is an idiot.
What a dumb take. They can schedule maintenance whenever they want. They’d rather choose to inconvenience their customers than their employees. Many (most?) online games do updates/maintenance on off hours.
