[Main Thread] Crashes on launch after maintenance Jan 24th

That happened to be as well on the first day… they silenced me for 24 hours citing code of conduct…

I upgraded to Monterey and still won’t work from on a 2015 Mac

Those of you trying to force macOS versions on systems not actually normally allowed to run those versions, would probably still crash because even if you hacked a newer macOS, you’d be on an older driver/metal path that’d probably still be missing the api app is looking for. As I said earlier, upgrade if you can upgrade reasonably (without hacky ways of doing it or breaking your work flow). otherwise just wait for fix. I do not encourage trying to force macOS versions to run that are not intended to be run on your system.

You see, this man has real problems. We all need to stop complaining. I remember the last time my wife was out of town. It was glorious.

I have Catalina as well, the game is still not working and my subscription ends tomorrow. They should compensate the time that the game has been down. :S … or is it not going to work on Catalina anymore? lol

Everything was working fine up until Tuesday.

Thanks for the “update” but seriously Blizz, everything was fine before TUESDAY! I say you unroll the patch and make everyone whole again THEN find out where the problem is and fix…not fair to keep so many of us out of the game because you can’t figure out what the hell happened! Just for crits and giggles, how is it we can all still place classic? Inquiring minds want to know. Please stop telling us to upgrade our OS as so many of us can’t!! This is a Blizzard problem not our Macs

I would have upgraded but when i went to do so it tells me my drive is experiencing S.M.A.R.T errors and can’t be updated. That’s sent me down a rabbit hole of what and how is the best way of updating my storage before my drive dies on me.

iMac (27" late 2013)
3.5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Nvidia 4GB
Catalina 10.15.7

I don’t think this issue has slipped through QA. The whole Classic Development slips through cracks left and right. You can’t tell me that Wintergrasp missing water was never noticed and despite not fixed in 2 weeks. For a company that large, that still continues to charge $15/monthly to play the game, should have developers available to fix a game that is not starting at all. This is not just cosmetics…(even though that’s where the API issue may come from) it’s rather a serious issue.

This downtime is officially the longest I’ve experienced since the launch of Warlords of Draenor when nobody could build their Garrison for 3 days.

One positive thing about this is seeing all these ppl that have to play on Macs for one reason or other. We know in theory that there’s many of us but seeing the mob is something else.

I play on Monterey with an intel iris and on a hhd. The game runs like a potato. Super long loading since DF pre-patch and I can’t do 2 instances in a row without a system restart. Had given up on raiding on SL already. I can’t even imagine how it is to play on Catalina on a 2010 machine. But yet, here we gather, eager to get in again.

I hope I can tank some mythic+s for any of your resilient souls soon.

I’ve opened tickets and they just keep telling me to do these “tips…” It really shouldn’t take them this long to allow Mac users to use the game we are paying for. It’s ridiculous.

Ok, I’ll play this micro game for patch 10.0.5

Make/Model of the system: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports)
Processor: 2.3 GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
GPU: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 1536 MB
OS Version: macOS Big Sur v11.7.3

Current Blizzard OS requirements to play

MacBook Pro late 2013
11.6.4 big Sur
I get a black screen when the game launches, then crashes.
