Mag'har Comments

Since they were introduced, the Mag’har had weird click on text that was supposed to only be used when we see them on Draenor. With the latest PTR build, they finally fixed it and added unique text we see when the NPCs are on Azeroth!

“I still dream of Draenor. Does my home still remain? Aggh, it does no good to think on such matters.”

“We have much to teach the orcs of this world.”

“Overlord Geya’rah was the Warchief’s right hand. There is no braver orc on this world.”

“What fate did our brothers and sisters meet?”

“This world reeks of corruption.”

“Warchief Hellscream is almost certainly dead. If he fell, he died a hero’s death.”

“If any Lightbound traitors come to this world, I will be ready!”

“If you earn the overlord’s trust, you will earn mine.”

Good.
I was wondering when that was going to happen, or if it would happen. It somewhat disappointed me we didn’t get to see the maghar talk about Azeroth and only rattle on about how I’m not trusted yet (even though I helped them across the barrier to Azeroth)

I’m glad we’re only learning about her second-hand, instead of seeing her do something notable, or having the Mag’har be lead by an established character (like the OG Mag’har were).

Cromush would’ve been a good candidate. They even hired a guy to give him actual voice lines. But oh well.

So far Geya’rah doesn’t seem any different to me than literally any other orc they could’ve thrown at us. It really feels like the only notable thing about her is her lineage which is… supposed to count for something, I guess.

Honestly she reminds me of that other lady Orc, whose name I forget right now, the Dragonmaw one who overthrows a tyrannical leader only to follow another tyrannical leader.

Yup, nothing like the Forsaken wearing an Orc Body-Suit, the Kor’kron who didn’t have the guts to die with his Warchief, and the guy who’s essentially blacklisted on Drek’thar’s call list to inspire as “Orc Leadership”.

None of that made any sense.

He doesn’t act a thing like a Forsaken.

Following a tyrant does not make you brave, it just makes you a sychophant.

Drek’thar had an issue with the Forsaken, not Cromush.

I keep forgetting that she’s suppose to be AU Durotan’s daughter and not Grom’s lol.

I’m amused how some of these lines come off as the Mag’har considering themselves superior to Azerothian Orcs. It’s as if Geya’rah is their Warchief rather than Sylvanas.

And I do like that.

I’m glad the Mag’har are being more cautious with the Horde and sticking to their own for the most part. I hope Thrall comes back at some point so we can see how they interact with him. After all, one could say he is Geya’rah’s brother, in a sense. Right now though I’m a little bummed out that they seem to behave more like the Warsong Clan, rather than various clans joined together. That’s logical of course, considering what they went through, but WoD developed each clan uniquely, so I’m a bit sad to see that homogenized, aside from customization options.

Yeah because being the right hand of GROMMASH HELLSCREAM is supposed to be such a sterling testimony about one’s “honorable” character.

The Iron horde under Grommash slaughtered and enslaved just as many innocents, and used nearly as much dark magic as Sylvanas’ horde. They also had the same tendency to enforce loyalty from their own people with threats of violence.

If they stand apart from Sylvanas’ horde it isn’t because of any kind of moral reasons.

Just as long as they don’t change that one /flirt on my Mag’har girl where she asks if Saurfang is single cause he’s a sexy silver fox. I love that one. But yeah glad they are updating the NPC click comments to bring them up to date.

As to Geya’rah I would like to see a little more of her just to get to know her as a character since she is the leader of the Mag’har on Azeroth. I’m intrigued to know more since she is the daughter of Durotan and Draka (two of my favorite Orcs of all time) who I think, for Orcs had a mostly level headed, practical way of dealing with things vs. being the right hand of Grom who we know in both MU and AU is a reckless hot head. I get the feeling she’ll be written more as FemGrom than the daughter of the Frostwolves.

If they ever update Outland like the main world was with Cataclysm (unlikely I know), but if they did, I love the idea of Mag’har seeing whats left of the Primary Timeline’s Draenor. Learning about the Orc history we were familiar with for over a decade before finding AU Draenor.

You’re thinking of Zaela. Who I’m still salty about having to kill.

Yeah her story arch made zero sense and was an absolute waste of an interesting character.
