Mages, do you feel pigeonholed?

As ugly as it is to think about, isn’t half of the point behind RoP’s design that players are going to screw it up and fail their damage to “balance out” when it’s used correctly?

I’d imagine that to a developer, complaints about its risk/reward nature would be that RoP’s working as intended. Or worse, if the complaint is that it’s harder to stay maximize to the point that some players start switching to IF, then what they’d be hearing is that RoP was too easy to use before.
