I hope you learn to communicate to other humans properly.
yeah it would be actually. People who couldn’t earn it during its release don’t need it.
Need? It’s a video game lmao. We don’t need any of this.
Nothing can kill the retail player base. They get excited for rehashed content so they can get colors. This crap probably took an intern 10 minutes to whip up during an office crawl. The bar is so freaking low its halarious.
You mean ‘I’m a giant stereotype!’
Ditto, to a degree. But I was also raised to consider what is practical and sometimes to give others a helping hand, and that sometimes you need to bend the rules when those rules don’t make sense anymore.
Again, if Blizzard was throwing druids new forms at even a…tenth of the rate at which other classes get new appearances, this would be much less of an issue.
Huh. I learned something today.
Yup.
You sound like a nice person.
Sigh.
It’s called an analogy. My point is that you lose out on nothing by letting druids have another crack at this.
Plus, I’d hope that my kid would also learn that sometimes standing on principle is the wrong thing to do, and makes you look like a petty little autocrat. There are times when the system as is doesn’t work for everyone, and being somewhat more pragmatic and flexible will work better for more people.
Not all ‘rules’ are sacrosanct, and should be changed.
Okay, this actually gave me a chuckle.
Uh, this is a perfect example of a slippery slope fallacy. Bringing one thing back, particularly for druids who really don’t get much else (and are unlikely to do so in the future) doesn’t mean that everything needs to come back.
And where is anyone asking for Black Harvest to come back?
Why?
If unique, limited time items were restricted to a handful of titles, mounts and mogs, that would be one thing. But it’s getting a little silly now.
Yup. But Blizzard isn’t going to give us more forms, and I’ll give you 16 years of precedent for this (druids are literally always asking for this, and, outside of Legion, it’s happened once).
Weirdly enough, I’m actually quite enjoying Shadowlands. I’m sure I’ll have my gripes when I get into the endgame though, but the leveling content at least has been excellent.
In which case, again, I hope that they give druids something, as we get few enough forms as is.
Dude, we are all playing a computer game. None of this is ‘needed’ by anyone.
When it’s recolors or…nothing, I’m going to choose recolors.
Ok and the people who didn’t get it during legion don’t “need” it.
If mage tower is coming back the reward for it will forsure be the new tier20 recolour tmog sets and NOT the artifact appearances.
Y’all are suckin that copium a lil too hard.
If I’m wrong feel free to @ me calling me out when the acquisition info is released
Duh. But again, this is a videogame. Nobody ‘needs’ anything.
Again, it’s early days yet and, if that’s the case, there is time for them to add well…some sort of new combat form for druids.
I’ll probably do the content anyways, as I’m a sucker for this sort of thing - but, until my hopes are finally crushed, I’m going to continue asking for it.
At least we came to an agreement that if you didn’t earn it during Legion you don’t need a chance to earn it now.
Stop trying to drum up false hype. The return of the MT in no way signifies the return of the artifact appearances or even a reskin of them. The data mined info suggests, ‘strongly’ I might add, that the reward will be the t20 recolor this time around. Nothing has been officially said so you can cling to hope if you so wish but none of the data suggests anything different than the scenario I laid out.
I agree, because if you play guardian or feral you’re always in that skin. We have lots of choices now, and that’s great, but I definitely would like to see more awesome skins added and if they’re using the same basic rigging, that doesn’t seem like (seem being the operative word, since I don’t know for sure) it doesn’t seem like it would be terribly difficult. But yeah - we’re getting new travel forms, that’s good. I’d like us to be able to complement our forms with a new one for each expansion, so you know open the KT forms up for all druids if you leveled a KT - in SL there are the revendreth bear forms that are cool - or better yet, a metal bear and metal cat form - these are all cool things we can all be happy about.
Huh?
That’s the…exact opposite of what I’m saying.
I’m saying that, aside from petty things like mounts and titles, timed exclusives are not good game design - and this is particularly true for druids.
Again, if that’s the case then I hope Blizzard at least gives druids something feral/guardian form wise. Which is the purpose of this thread.
Yes, this all sounds very good. But it would represent a massive departure from the way that Blizzard has handled new druid forms (in that they really don’t seem to like making them) and is much less likely to become reality than them simply throwing us a bone here with a recolor of the MT forms.
Travel forms are…okay. But these really are just stuff that already exists within the game.
I do like the idea of making AR forms available to anyone that leveled that race, but the chances of that happening are approximately zero.
Honestly, I think it wouldn’t be far fetched to feel optimistic - I think this new team is more open and I mean, what else can do they really do as this expansion winds down but offer some treats - usually in the form of cosmetics. I think they could get the art department to look at some existing assets and then set that up with the druid rigging to give us a little love.
Actually its great design. Only people who don’t like this design are people who couldn’t earn it or didn’t play during that time.
A lot of words to just call this what it is. Bitterness at missing something.
No, no it isn’t. And I’ll explain why.
A big part of playing an MMO is making your ‘perfect’ avatar. When people arrive in an MMO and realize that not only will they likely never be able to do this, because all the stuff they need to do this is has been sunset, it’s frustrating and likely to drive them away. Destiny 2 tried this, and had to pretty quickly start reversing it as it really PO’d their players.
Now, there are some things that are fine if timed. Titles offer prestige, but don’t detract from customization. Mounts are fine too, as there are plenty of options.
Druid forms now…
And yet there are plenty of folks in these threads who were able to get that stuff, but don’t feel that a recolor would detract from their ability to show off.
Again, you had your time to preen when this stuff was relevant.
Shrug. We are all nerds here, playing a videogame. When we don’t like a particular design decision, we have forums to provide feedback.
I don’t like important character customization options being timed exclusives. I think that it’s near-sighted, as this is something that gives your company a short-term gain in return for a long-term cost.
With us having a brief window of Blizzard really trying hard to create some good-will in it’s playerbase, this is the time to give feedback on design decisions that you want changed.
And thus, I’m doing so.
If you actually read my post above somewher I said blizzard should 1000% add more forms for druids. Druids who didn’t get the mage towers during Legion don’t deserve them though.
And if you actually read my numerous responses to exactly this point, ‘ought’ and ‘is’ are the problem here.
Druids have been asking for new combat forms since WoW’s inception. Aside from Legion and ARs, we’ve received one in the lifespan of WoW.
It would be nice if this was the case, but Blizzard, for whatever reason, just doesn’t like making new combat forms for druids. Maybe it just takes a lot of work?
Warlocks who didn’t get the green fire during MoP probably don’t deserve it.
However, as this is a really meaningful bit of character customization, Blizzard kept it in.
Again, think of it as ‘timed scarcity’ rather than a timed exclusive. Folks who got the fire in MoP had their chance to show off their rare visuals. Now, anyone who wants it can go and grind it out.
I really must take you to task everytime you say that because you frame it in a way that is deliberately misleading. Ferals alone were given 28 new appearances in Legion, I think Bears 27 - in BFA 2. You consistently dismiss that, and pretend that fact doesn’t exist when it is kind of important. Many of those forms are excellent - the detail and artwork and time they took - they all look unique within their style group - but you don’t mention that. Consistently, you don’t mention that.
Well I’m here to remind you once again, the universe is not in fact collapsing in on itself.
Druids who wanted the mage tower should have earned during Legion. Their shouldn’t be a second chance at it. Druids got other appearances during Legion. Use those.
