What you’re experiencing is what is to be expected
Mage tower was challenging upon its original launch
“But it was better back when it was content”
No, it was “better for you” because in 7.3 Argus gear was more than enough to complete the mage tower, blizzard literally made mage tower easier for all before the inevitable removal pre BfA
It was “easier” then because you were over geared for the challenge
Your cat back then, could probably clear it because how easier it was by 7.3
This is expected. Enjoy your challenge mode, as many of your colleagues wished mage tower back for years
OP is also correct. So many people have forgotten that when Mage Tower released when ToS came out, the forums were flooded with “this is impossible” and “this is only for The 1%!” threads.
It wasn’t until people outgeared it with Antorus gear the next tier that it became popular.
i mean it’s day 1. can we wait till day 5 before we start complaining too hard? i’m about 12 pulls and varis down to 20% as a Veng DH. it’s no cake walk for sure…but it’s supposed to be hard, it’s why it’s called the Mage Tower Challenge
Edit. Got it yesterday. Try out some different combos and trinkets. I got the haft and frond trinket from lfr legion raids. The haft gave me an extra cheat death from kruul and the frond was extra DPS. I also stacked crit gear to go in with 45% and that was a big DPS increase. Yes I know I’m a DH with glide but sometimes you just need to try other builds, stats and trinks. Be creative. Next one up for me is felbear.
Yes it was. Tough as nails. You had to be a pretty good player to beat most of the encounters day one.
I think some people are saying that but not everyone. However, Argus (gear) did make the challenges significantly easier. That and Legendary acquisition - getting the right legendary for the challenges helped a bit too.
Meh. I got what I wanted in Legion. I don’t think I have the patience to throw myself at the tower again.
Thing is this is a stupid thing to say, we will not outgear it, this was all stealth buffed and not even put on the PTR for testing, prime blizzard thing, obviously. We won’t outgear it ever, we’re ilvl 50 that’s it, ilvl 50 is already everything up to hero antorus, and yet it’s close to impossible since the many buffs. Vengeance DH literally have it easy, as it’s the best class for that challenge by far.
Personally expected Legion borrowed power to work in Legion TWing. Seems like a huge design flaw since there will be no balancing and Legion gear will be consistent in power.
What’s the point of giving us these borrowed power system if they can’t even be utilized during their TWing?
Mage tower released hyped me up for months, yet they manage to shadow buff it before release without anyone testing it, and will put the blame on us. That’s why they are at that low amount of players playing, that’s why people lost confidence in Blizzard, thats why it’s a meme for those telling us to give them a chance.
They managed to unhyped something in me that hyped me for months if not years.
Yeah. It’s actually super cringe that I see posters whining they didn’t beat it on the third pull.
Some people on GD should absolutely not beat this challenge.
They should find themselves unable to defeat the challenge and should just give up. If everyone beats Mage Tower, I will consider it a complete failure.
I want Mountain Dew Bear to be rare. I want to learn the mechanics of an encounter and then execute on those mechanics and eventually overcome it. Like a mini-raid boss.
Obviously if the tuning is completely busted that’s something Blizzard needs to look at, but it only 1% of players beat this challenge, that’s probably a decent place to be all things considered.
Ignore anything OP says. He’s just here to troll and keeps his profile hidden so people don’t see he just gets carries for the last bosses on the heroic raids.
The major “content” of the patch shouldn’t be overtuned to the point that people can’t do it, and the people defending it are just being stubborn fanboys, but they seems to be the majority of people left on the forums now.
