Mage Tower Availability Extended and Tuning Adjustments

Even with the nerfs, its still very difficult, dont you worry about that

YMMV.

I had all 36/36. For me DK tank was the hardest because mobility was my biggest issue (losing sight of infernals).

DH was super easy even in legion. Glide, fel rush, heroic leap (whatever its called)
I found the DH tank one to be the easiest of them all (tank challenges)

I guess hunters can’t do the hokey pokey last phase.

So fun when you have to hit an imp for 4-7 times with a fully geared unholy dk at Agatha’s encounter

Still really overtuned.

DId Blizzard tell you this? The ONLY thing that was ever said was that they were using the Timewalking rules, and anyone with an ounce of deductive reasoning, would realize that sockets, enchants, and BiS stats matter in timewalking runs. ilvl does not. And you can dang near use ANYTHING on the menu (asides from some borrowed power stuff)

Hell, if your using a massively high ilvl piece but it has your worst stats, its worse then using a lower ilvl piece.

People got a change in rules they don’t understand, and now they’re all whiney, instead of actually taking the time to learn and enjoy content that can take over 10 years of content into consideration.

Didn’t touch Sigyrn despite it being overtuned with boss health or axe damage.

Ele shaman seems to be bugged with Agatha skipping all of her dialogue to go straight to the last 2 lines and starting the fight, making it so there’s no time to use food.

Players who completed mage tower challenges during Legion should have them count as progress for the Soaring Spelltome mount. You should not have to complete the challenges again unless you just want the new mogs.

I stayed, I had resubbed for 6 months and talked my wife and son into playing with their own 6 month subs. That’s how much I was hoping to love the game again

Take care. I’m not even looking forward to a new XPac anymore. You sucked what was left of my hope for this game when you released content specifically for overqualified players, that DON’T EVEN PAY THEIR OWN SUBS!!! You release this stuff into live and then say “oops, we thought our player base was better than that
” and expect us to just laugh it off. Casuals have kept paying your bills, elites kept casuals wanting to play, you catered to the band and not the customers
 OOPS

Not even looking for a new game. This industry is just done. I wish I was joking

Having done the original MT for the artifact appearances on several characters I can honestly say that the new MT is far to difficult.

The idea should be that you want your playerbase to feel engaged and motivated to get the appearances. If not for any other reason to get them to resub and do all of the encounters. But for some reason the opposite has happened, you’ve alienated the players you have that can’t come close to completing the challenges, catered to the elite foul mouthed, and essentially ruined any chance that this activity will bring back sub’s and retain players.

As a business decision this makes no sense, leadership in the company should recognize the opportunity to increase membership at the very least. Developers should understand by now that making their content available and achievable is the best path forward.

As I’ve said before, don’t market the MT as something “Everyone” will enjoy and partake in, and then make it so only the 1% can do it.

Just my two cents.

This doesn’t solve the imbalance problem at all, it just hides it a bit.
I don’t think the problem is mechanics or boss hp, but rather the poor scaling of the stats that causes you to grind for gear from old expansions in an event that last 4 weeks only.
Am I the only one who believes that this does not solve anything?

The Tower currently has two alternatives, either you get Shadowlands gears with ilevel 252 or you get gears + gems + enchantments from the previous expansions.

I did in the past the warrior arms Xylem fight during legion on EU.

And i can’t understand why Xylem can kill me in like 2-3 seconds after casting the ice around me.

I know that i can heroic leap 1/2 time of this mechanics, but i don’t have enough time to target/kill the ice and regen myself on it with Impending Victory.

Also the actual NERF that we got in AoE abilities just get the challenge harder.

Before all targets get damage from whirlind, but there we can only touch 5 targets, and it’s a real problems, because there is like 15-20 ices
and it’s totally randum about which will be touched by whirlind.

Mage tower is total overtuned mess and those “adjustments” are too little to make it doable by majority of player base.

Blizzard is a joke among games now there are rampant bugs in all games and mage tower locked to 1%.

Having 252 Ilvl gear doesn’t mean a thing, it all gets scalled down. The big thing would be correct stats for the spec you play. LFR SL raid gear is just the same as mythic raid gear in there. Why pvp players are doing sort of ok is the high Vers stats do to the nature of the gear chosen to be worn.

The other big gear factor is old gear, the best is from the very old raid SoO since most armour slots have 2 gem sockets. Current SL gear can only have 1. And keep in mind old gear from some raids has no verse stats.

I did my frost mage challenge going for 33% crit then the rest haste and other stats.

I am going to do the fire mage one this week with a traditional Heavy crit/mastery build.

It’s a shame they didn’t make templates, but with a back catalogue of old raids to build sets from there is a lot of player customization options to be chosen. It’s a damn shame they are only doing it for a month.

RPG for people who hate RPGs.

Seriously. Timewalking has always worked like this.
Most of the people complaining about needing the sets to complete it wouldn’t complete it even with the sets.

It’s really fun hearing about how other classes can soak the twins circles with their pets, while I had to literally use my racial to juke out mobs to give myself enough space to soak them.

Oh boy.
Somebody else who is so self-absorbed they refuse to see many of these people acknowledging that yes, it’s overtuned. Literally every shadow priest I know - completed or otherwise - acknowledges it’s overtuned.

Content doesn’t have to be for everybody, but when most of the content that feels like it has meaningful progression is for a certain demographic already, just feeding those players more isn’t going to help anything. People’s egos on the matter don’t matter, accessibility and player retention does.
Just because some of us are clearing this, doesn’t mean it’s a good feature nor well-tuned for long term health. If those players had other stuff to work on that felt worth their time, then this would be fine, but between that and it being much more reasonable for your average heroic raider on PTR, this is gongshow and it’s just denial for the sake of feeling superior to ignore hard math and facts.

SoO gear isn’t BiS.
You want relic gear with sockets.

It’s weird watching people intentionally gimp themselves, especially when the alternative is so ridiculously easy to farm.

What about some nerf so arms can actually do it?

you know what would make MT actually fun and be content for everyone literally from casual to mythic raider? templates. set gear and ilvl. lmao so simple. anyone could just challenge it on any class and have at it
