Wait, so they are account-wide? I got all of them, but I didn’t realize they were account wide. And here I thought I had to pay for a race-change to get my kul tiran rogue to have the dagger appearances. Good to know, that’s going to save me some money.
As far as getting them cross-class? No. No I don’t agree with that, and this is coming from someone who thinks they never should have gone away to begin with. You either did it on the class in question or you didn’t. The fights had slight alterations for certain specs. Tank classes shouldn’t get all of the mogs because someone did it on their paladin prior to the nerf (because it was insanely easy.)
Sorry, if you completed it on one character it does unlock for all the rest of your alts of the same class and spec. I can verify this because my alts can use the transmog even though they didn’t complete the Mage Tower.
I understand that. That’s fine with me. I’m saying on things other than what you completed it on. That’s what the OP is asking for, right? Or did I misread it.
If I misread it then - yes, you do it on your havoc DH, and you get it on all your havoc DH’s.
Yes, this is what I thought the OP meant, which is what I’m referring to.
I pretty much echo everyone else here. The Mage Tower challenges were different for different classes and specs, and even the same challenges were easier or harder for different specs. I struggled with Arms Warrior but found Survival and Havoc to be brain dead easy. They were the same challenge.
Doing it on one character does not mean you knew how to play other specs to complete the challenge. It’s unfortunate that you didn’t get the skins, but Blizzard was VERY transparent about the Mage Tower going away. We knew about it for a while, we knew they were going away, and they continued to remind us again and again throughout the end of the expansion.
This is not going to earn you an ounce of sympathy. We all have lives, we all have school. Some of us work and go to school, some of us have kids and work. We all have lives, and we are all busy. I absolutely loathe this excuse because that’s all it is; an excuse. If you want something in the game, make a plan or take steps to get it. Unless you literally didn’t have a computer for two years, you had the time. Especially when the artifacts were fully charged and Antorus came out. You chose not to set time aside to get them, and that’s on you. Don’t blame your family for that.
So no: unlocking the skins on one character should not get you all of the other skins for every other class. They all had their own challenges despite sharing the same scenario, and it was an indication of your mastery of the spec. Completely different from the Warlords timed challenges favoring those who could equip multiple weapon types compared to other classes.
And yet, you feel entitled to the same rewards without putting in the effort required. Sorry junior, your not going to find many participation trophy supporters here. If you want the prize, your gonna have to learn how to win. At the very least, learn how to lose with dignity.
it is most definitely not the same thing considering most classes can’t use the same amount of weapons, whereas each spec had exactly 1 artifact weapon with a corresponding challenge. the problem is that if the WoD challenge mode weapons only unlocked if the character who completed it could use that weapon then that puts people who don’t play warrior at a much bigger disadvantage than those that did (transmog wise) because warriors could equip all of those weapons whereas someone like a priest would not be able to.
if the WoD weapons were more like the MoP armor sets, and class specific, then they would not have been completely account wide and would only be account wide for all of the characters of that class you completed them on. i only beat the MoP challenges on my hunter who was my main at the time, but i didn’t complain that i couldn’t use the warlock or druid armor sets when i started to play those more often in Legion/BfA.
No to unlocking one unlocking all. However I don’t see why we couldn’t mog the weapons at level 10 when we gain access to specs. Tbh the concept of levels have been pointless outside of twinks (like 110/111 DHs and speed twinks, or 101 bis druids in legion) and have been for years cause all the content is at max level. I wouldn’t consider it immersion breaking anymore than it can theoretically be right now with level 1 bank alts wearing tier 3. I like my mage tower appearances and until something else like them come along I’ll be sticking to them.
As someone who stressed over getting all 36 skins, I’m gonna have to say no. The mage tower appearances are much different than the warlords challenge mode weapons since those were just weapon types and not spec specific designs. It’s the same reason we can’t have account wide mop cm armor (still pissed my group bailed on me because it was “too hard” and I never got my Paladin set…)
They are in a sense account wide where you can use them on other toons of the same class/spec but you still have to earn the tints on the original which is a bit annoying for me as I leveled a fresh nightborne mage because I didn’t want to be a blood elf and also didn’t really have money to blow on a race change at the time but I’ll get around to it…
Big true. It’s why games that didn’t require the internet to play have weathered the test of time. Static products that no one can take away from you so long as you have a machine that can play them.
Oh sorry you can’t play star fox 64 cause you didn’t play it back then. A game is a a game at the end of the day.
No, time limited rewards are made so that you can have something cool from a certain point in the game. And scarcity? There are hundreds of mogs in the game.
