Mages leveled in mara lol. Mages doing insane aoe solo is kind of the norm. ZG boosts even in HC lol.

I’m sure they will put in the anti boosting mechanics going forward. This is why we can’t have nice things :stuck_out_tongue:

This isn’t a single player game and even if it were a single player game you would still need to have balance in place. It isn’t healthy for the economy or the game. AoE farming mage have always been part of the game but it was never at this level. Comparing to classic every class got boosted. But lets say for dps classes that can dps DPS went up 2x the amount it was in classic. Healing classes had healing boosted. Mage aoe potential went up by like 5x. Its hard to measure but compare what mages in classic were doing xp/hour wise compared to what is possible now. Before it was around 20-30k xp/hour at this level? ATM probably like 100k+/hour possible. This also translates into gold/hour and materials per hour. Basically making farming for all other classes worth a whole lot less since mages can do it 5x+ faster. I don’t see how people think this isn’t an issue. It impacts the entire game.

To the people saying just level a mage and farm, that isn’t the point. The point is that they need to be brought down more inline with other classes. Mages can be good at aoe farming, that’s okay. Being able to achieve 5x+ the kill speed of other classes is a problem.

You can exploit pathing bugs in Stocks to AoE farm where the mobs can’t reach you. It’s not like Blizzard is ever going to ban cheaters, so people happily post videos of themselves exploiting. Some cheaters are doing a solo stocks run in as little as 15 minutes.

You can’t balance the game around cheaters though. It is what it is.

I dont think that exists anymore as far as I know. But maybe im wrong.

Warlocks do the same and Will be even worse next phase.

I mean 5 Mages killed 8 people, way faster than their healers could have possibly healed them. Every tick of Living Bomb also has a 10% chance to stun, so with 5 DoTs on everyone, people are just stunned all over the place. We won 30-35 games in a row, mostly against other premades, and the initial team fight was never close.

Keep clowning if you want, but Fire Mage is meta AF right now.

So what were those 8 people doing? This really seems like a skill issue more than anything

lol. I’d like to see you try it. It’s nowhere near as brain dead as Classic Vanilla or TBC Slave Pens boosting. Not only do you need the gear to make it a true “boost”, the mob pathing is unpredictable. Wait too late, or react wrong, you’re dead. Lose your World Buff and it makes it that much harder - much harder. Damage some mobs more htan others they flee before the rest. Living Bomb too many and you have no mana. If one hits you it gets slowed and separate it from the pack - increasing boost time. If you need another Living Flame that’s 1 minute wasted.

Theres better doomstacks. Like Hunter and Druid. Try surviving 8 instant starsurges.

They ARE in line. Either classes need their really strong niche or everything needs to be on the same playing field. Mages atm are struggling to heal, raid and PVP. Mass AOE farm is all they are great at.

Meanwhile Warriors are still good tanks and are the best DPS (again).
And Rogues still decent at PVP and the second best DPS (again).

So you gonna also argue for Mage ST damage to be brought up to warriors?

The biggest divine storm crit I’ve been hit by is 481, you make mages instant cast for that kind of damage and you can keep the aoe.

I’m 99% sure you can’t get an impact stun off the tic of a fire spell dot, it has to be on cast, and potentially at the end of living bomb. Not sure on flamestrike’s damage over time, but the rest I’m fairly certain on.

If a pet can teleport their hunter, than hunters will need to be nerfed . I agree .

I suggest trying it out - those that do it have practiced…a lot, and often have specific gear for it.

There isnt an issue, as mage healing has already been nerfd and more then likely wont be taken into raids if it gets nerfd again.

The only people defending starsurge are doing exactly this.

I have done it… and yes it’s the brain dead dance. Sent in feedback about it as if that ever does anything.

It’s beyond me why anyone would post this exploiting pathing takes some kind of skill… unless they were worried about it being fixed.
